Joss Whedon to direct Batgirl for Warner Brothers

First Marvel, now DC! He will be writing and producing as well. I am excited tor this now

Being a fan of Batgirl, I hope Joss focuses on the fun side of Batgirl we got to see in her New 52 run during the Batgirl of Burnside stories. The darker stuff before that was ok but not nearly as interesting as seeing a college girl juggle dating, friends, parties, studying, and punching criminals in the face at night. The Burnside stories would be a perfect fit for Joss with its cast of characters that DONT rely on Batman (of course you'd need a mustachioed appearance of Jim Gordon in there...that goes without saying) but I wouldn't be opposed to a quick Nightwing cameo as a former romance that she brushes off.

All that being said, he's a good fit for Babs and he knows how to handle female heroes. I'd say avoid the Killing Joke stuff after that last animated stinker or have her recovered from it years ago without much mention. It was a life changing event for her but that doesn't mean she needs to be defined by it.
