Gun Town - draw...or die

Hello all. I'm the new guy. I wanted to post my film here for everyone to enjoy. (or not, lol)

Gun Town - draw...or die, is my first film ever which was shot an a 8000.00 budget in 7 days in the blistering heat of western Kentucky during June of 2009. The average temp was around 95 degrees. With a small cast of 13 people and a on-set crew of 2, we braved the odds and released our film merely 6 months after our first day of shooting.

I feel for ya with the heat. I've done a couple in Austin during the June-July months and it's definitely trial-by-fire, or feels like it, LOL. My dad used to live in Henderson, KY and that place had a similar kind of heat, with surprising humidity thanks to the river and all the greenery.

Thanks guys. Yes Burnet, the heat is blistering in Ky. Humidity like it is really makes it miserable. Needless to say everyone was dashing for the A/C anytime they could, lol.

and by the way...I encourage reviews. Not fabricated thoughts, but honest reviews...whether good or bad. I will Never ask for a fabricated "great review".

Well, I didn't finish it, but my two biggest complaints are the lighting and missing sound effects. Sawbones bang gag could have used a sound, would have been quite startling. Francis pistol whips the blonde without a sound. And the movie is just too bright. Some post filters would fix that right up. Not a bad effort for the budget you had.

I await my copy and will be excited to let you know.. Damn at least you have some ambitious ideas and go for it.. Gotta give you some credit for just that!

I'm curious, did you not finish it because it bored you? Or because of something else? Either way it's cool, just curious.

I do agree with your thoughts, and let me just say that I had HELL to deal with on set. Let's just say that if I would of had more money, it would have been twice as good. But there ya have it...time/money. A filmmakers 2 worst enemies.

edit: on a side note, I will be using crowd funding for part 2. This time I am raising more dough and have some excellent equipment coming in. Particularly a 20,000.00 camera and a grip truck loaded with goodies. We'll also have night scenes with good kills and SPFX. But...we have to raise the budget.

Thank you Destinie! It was mailed out the day you ordered it. (I work at the distribution center that mails them out, kind of a good perk)

Yes I do have a brain full of ideas. Now, if I had a pocket full of money....lol

No, something came up. I'll finish it soon though.

I wish I had the ideas.. I know what I want in a movie but I could never do what you do.. However most people could remove teeth either so to each their own

Yes Desitinie, it is extremely hard work. It drained the life right out of me, but we got it done. Very grueling work, but the reward of the finished product for everyone is worth it. The main thing for me is entertaining the audience. I don't care about awards or competing against other filmmakers or trying to "be the next so and so". I just want to entertain people.

I am actually jonesing hard to make a road movie. Hard to do with everything already being done. Christine, Wheels of Terror, Duel, etc. I'll figure something out.

Its hard to come up with NEW ideas when everyone is remaking!!! You know what Im saying.. it can be done.. true horror comes from within a horror fan which is what horror is almost requesting.. I LOVE things like The orphanage, Martyrs, those movies stick with me.. Hell Even Zombieland did it for me.. Just new ideas

I'll tell ya what Splat, if we are able to raise the money, the sequel is going to rock. I bumped everything up a notch in the script for part 2. It's a combo prequel/sequel.
