Paperhouse 1988
A great horror film, it's about a young girl around 11-12 who is terribly sick with the flue has some powerful dreams that are seemingly linked to pictures she draws and another young boy. It has a pretty terrifying climax and some nightmarish imagery at times. It was directed by Bernard Rose who would later direct Candyman. It's a shame this film has never been given a DVD/blu ray release in the U.S.

Paperhouse is an often overlooked and underrated psychological drama that deftly touches on horror elements. It's a shame it doesn't get the attention or recognition that this simple yet poignant flick deserves.
Ben Cross cranks out yet another solid role as he so often does, and have been a fan of his since I had the pleasure of catching him early in the theater with Chariots of Fire. His Dark Shadows gig was great as well. Paperhouse is quality storytelling, and definitely deserves a viewing. :2thumbs:

I wouldn't call it horror or supernatural. A dark drama/fantasy movie more like.
