I've been pretty mixed about it actually being "horror". It def. looks like it has elements from the genre, but I don't think I'd specifically consider it a horror movie. It looks good either way.
It's really hard to define with psychological films like this, in the end they're usually just a matter of opinion. :hmmm:
But I may just add it to UHM anyway since it's Xavier Gens :2thumbs:
Just realized this is out in limited theaters right now, but as expected nowhere near me :dislike:
That looks pretty damn good.
Caught the film earlier -- despite many unanswered questions, I liked it. It didn't get as intense or as graphic as it could have, but what the film offered was pretty good. I really liked the use of slow-mo and orchestral music in certain scenes too. They could've used a better actor to play the lead antagonist. It's an otherwise above average movie, in my opinion. 7/10 (but kind of a low 7)
This movie displayed some of the most disrespectful, ungrateful and rude mofos in movie history... almost everyone in the group deserved a good :bitchslap: ... but it was still a good flick. :D
Agreed - however I think they were meant to be representative of "normal" society, and as such, the decay of that society in the face of severe adversity.
What I didn't like were the need for a nuclear holocaust, as it would have equally have worked without it, or, perhaps more annoyingly, wtf the soldiers were all about - it's like a subplot that the director started with, then completely forgot about.

Was looking for this movie, but, it was not released in the city I live in. It should come out like HBO, STARS, and the like in a few months. True, it is about a nuclear war and strangers that now live in a fallout shelter. Ya, I know it is a bad idea. Still, was it a good movie as I never have thought a nuclear war movie would be that interesting as a horror movie.
Mi piace.
I think I have to hold off till Comcast gets it on demand.
I was really disappointed with this. I'll do a write up later for now I'll just give it a ** out of ****.
I liked this despite the wtf white suit dudes....the little girl, whaaa? why? Unless I missed something. Anyway the Character of Mickey coulda been stronger, better but Biehn is awesome.
When stuff like this happen people can go either way...its just showed us the worst side of human nature. 6/10 for me. I wanted more graphic violence.
Got this quite a while ago but only sat down to watch it last night. I thought this was bloody excellent. Really enjoyed it. 8/10
well worth a watch
I got this one on blu-ray sometime ago just haven't gotten around to watching it hopfully soon though.
I found it quite good this movie, I like the way in which Gens begins presenting stereotypical characters, we believe know what the film is about, but halfway through the film, the genre changes to become something different from what we had thought, focusing primarily on the psychological aspect of the characters.
The film shows us in a very good way, how human beings brings out the worst of themselves in extreme situations, when their own survival is at stake.
