I hope not. This is very much beneath him, but would be an easy pay day.
DC cinematic universe is a disaster. If Affleck pulls out of playing Batman, expect a re-boot.
I don't know if the entire DC is doing badly, I haven't read any Rebirth but I hear really good things. Justice League Dark is supposed to be better than the last batch of DC animated films, and Lego Batman is killing it in the critical realm. Plus another season of Young Justice announced is amazing and has me pumped. In terms of TV I think DC is leaps and bounds ahead of Marvel. While I'm a season behind in everything I love the Flash, really enjoyed Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow is still decent, and I'm enjoying Supergirl (in the middle of season 1 right now).
Pretty much only the cinematic world is clinging to the edge of a flushing toilet.
The flash and arrow are awesome! Been struggling through the first season of supergirl as I watcg it on Netflix. Parts are cool but it is kinda dull sometimes.
Mel gibson has indeed confirmed that he is in early talks and there are other names on the list if he says no
Ruben fleischer
Daniel espinosa
Jonathan levine
Dc should opt for something other than a big save the world story. In the comics the suicide squad doesn't go after world ending threats they fight dictators and terrorists. They don't go after super threats. The second film should be more gritty and have an 80s style action vibe. Make it in the style of an 80s action cannon film and just blow shit up

It does not matter who they get on board for this, the same problems will arise.
Now, i will say this, Mel is a nutjob and when (if) he films this movie i would grab a box of popcorn and put his video rant on loop, once he found out that the studio cut it all to shit.
I was only half joking. Their animated are on point but I haven't checked out any of their shows. Suicide Squad could have been cool if they hadn't just done the paint by numbers good guy good, bad guy bad storytelling. Maybe they'll try not having a million re-shoots the second time around.
The style is all wrong for him as his films are deadly serious and realistic. Odd! Maybe a move to get back in Warner Bros' good books again (coming back as Mad Max...?)
