atleast it looks nothing like the original robocop and they tried to go in a different direction. its directed by a latino and that pleases me and my people as well.
Wow, so every other action movie ever made
PG-13. R.I.P. Robocop.
At least the ED-209s look cool. Not as much character as the original design. It all depends on the voice they use. Really, that's the only reason I'll watch this for.
I went in with an open mind, expecting nothing more than a mildly entertaining action sci-fi flick and that's exactly what I got. As a remake it pales in comparison to the original, but on its own it's a decent time-waster. :2thumbs:
Decided to give this a watch too, like you I went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It was a very enjoyable movie to watch, I was engaged for the entire almost two hour run time. I wouldn't bother comparing it to the original, but this stands on it's own as a fun action flick with some great visuals and good performances, really loved the ED-209 battles too.
I still hope a sequel happens. It deserves one
Personally I liked Joel Kinnaman for the role since I watch The Killing and his acting was spot on. I enjoyed watching it, sure nothing can replace the classic film, but i thought it was worth the movie ticket price.
It may end up being forgettable ultimately, but still I didn't find it boring at all, it was a breeze to get through for me. Questionable dialogue can be charming in the right context =p
