Really? Prom Night and Don't Open till Xmas? Those movies are terrible even by slasher standards.

In no particular order after the first one:
Black Christmas (original)
Halloween 1+2 (original), Halloween 4 and Halloween 5
Psycho (original)
Sleepaway Camp
Hatchet
Wrong Turn
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1+2 (original)
Wolf Creek
Scream 1-2
Final Destination 1-2
High Tension
A Nightmare On Elm Street (original)
Santa Sangre
I Spit On Your Grave (remake)
House Of 1000 Corpses
Hostel
The Hills Run Red
As you can probably tell I'm not to knowledgeable about older slasher flicks yet.
Black Christmas (1974) for me.
John Carpenter's Halloween
It's gotta be Friday the 13th. Jason is my favourite, and it introduced me to him.
The Texas Chainsaw remake and the beginning are recent favourites.
^^ Do you prefer the remake over the original?
Just curious.
Jason was def a childhood hero growing up:confident:
Candyman is up there
Agreed :downlow: I got a Wicked Soft Spot for 80's Cheese:yes:
Over the last decade we've had quite the revival of the 80's format Slasher flick. From the equally Iconic Masked Psychopaths :jason: to the same stereotypical Survivors / body count fodder:shedance::axekill:. I love the Slasher genre, especially the 80's. Now picking a favorite all depends on the day or mood I'm in. And as much as I love all the classic icons. These last 10 yrs have given me a Bunch of new favorites. The obvious ones for me being,Victor Crowley , Leslie Vernon, ChromeSkull, Baby Face and blokes like Mick Taylor. :metalbang: Shit, even Tyler Mane's Michael Myers :mike: and Andrew Brynarski's Leather Face (the Beginning!) By far the most Physically Intimidating and Intense versions of Those Characters IMO. :whew:......So all the way back to the beginning. If I had to pick a favorite New School Slasher right this moment?:hmmm: I'd probably have to go the most physically imposing killer on screen,an also the most overlooked Slasher of the decade. Jacob Goodnight!:metalbang: the 1st See No Evil was a surprisingly wicked fun offering. And Kane was wicked brutal in all his eyeball plucking glory. And I really dug the second flick too.:2thumbs:Attachment 24244
