Weirdest obscure reference to a horror film

Not many people saw the pilot episode for the failed pilot mocking bird lane, a revamp of the munsters. It was a very expensive dark and pretty twisted show with some gory stuff on it, was also kind of funny, it was created by bryan fuller. The network didn't know what to make of it and dumped it on halloween and shown as a one off special. Almost no one saw it or was aware of it and I am guessing most people didn't catch the homage to the 1979 monster horror film the prophecy. There is a scene where a group of cub scouts sleeping in the woods and eddie munster wolfs out and smacks a kid against a rocks while a frightened kid tries to hop away while still in his sleeping bag.
