Incident at Loch ness is a great found footage film

Werner herzog plays himself and is working on a documentary about loch ness and has a whole crew with him and zack penn. This film does anything it can to try and fool you into believing it's a real documentary and the things that happen are real. The movie starts out with a house party full of cameos from movie stars. It starts out slowly but things get more intense as it goes along, it's a pretty suspenseful film that works really well. It's also kinda funny at times.

Before the film came out there was a website that tied into the film that was fairly genius and talked about how it tried to expose the deaths of several crew members and talked about the loch ness monster itself. The people behind the site would email you back to if you questioned them about anything stated in it

Never heard of it until now. Has a decent IMDB rating, so maybe I'll check it :hmmm:

It barely played in theater's it was originally meant to be a wide release film but it didn't play in very many and was barely promoted I only knew of the documentary from the website. I bought it on DVD years ago where it went after it's quick theatrical run. I bet if the film were released now it would have a much bigger following

Its...... almost a hidden gem....
Its like one or two steps away from being one of those great hidden movies that becomes cult classics.
Its not horror, its not even close to horror. Its a dark comedy with a similar comedic style to Shaun of the Dead, that dry/thinker humor but, the writer didnt quite nail it.

I would classify it as a horror film, it does go into that area in the last 30 minutes or so

Not at all. There is nothing horror about this movie..... we can barely classify it as a monster movie let alone a horror movie.
The best description would be.... the anticipation of a monster or horror movie, that never gets there. It just ends up as a dark comedy that's not even that funny, even if you're a fan of subtle or dry humor.

it is inked under horror on netflix i believe-. I was just gearing up to watch this and area 51 but they removed area 51 from netflix. Will watch this one thought sarurday

Area 51 is pretty good but you don't need to race to see it.

It's a mockumentary, not a horror movie. Although I did like it, I remember feeling quite disappointed by the ending.
