I know the film has a divided fan base, I love the film, it's imaginative, beautifully shot, lots of weird offbeat characters, great visuals. It's an exciting movie that feels like you're in another world, it's a great adventure

I've always been mixed about it. I like some of the ideas, but also found certain aspects to be a little too silly and more over-the-top than it needed to be. I still enjoy it a bit more than the first film though, mostly because I just find the first really dark and depressing.
Mad Max is the best. A Boy and His Dog predates The Road Warrior. The only thing TRW brought to the table was the cyberpunk look.
Beyond Thunderdome is interesting, especially the first half of the film. I like the ending too, where we see what happened to the cities.
I have high hopes for Fury Road, Miller better not disappoint.
My God "Beyond Thunderdome" is a fuckin' waste. Tina Turner? lololol
That's all I'm gonna say. Could have been SO much better.
The kids waiting for "Walker" was the only thing that made this flick for me....even though a few of them looked like EWOKS. Too many negatives...lost all the badass aspects of the first 2...and CHEERS! go out to you Orlok for mentioning A BOY AND HIS DOG :coolbeer:
Yeah, I remember not even liking this one when I was a kid and a lot less discerning. It felt so cop-out PG compared to the other films, especially as a follow-up to The Road Warrior. It was like Miller trying to be Stephen Spielberg.
It's poop.
big time poop!
And that fucking song! More like We Don't Need Another PG-13 Mad Max. :whew:
I wish I could hit your thumbs up button 1,000 times :coolbeer:
:stare:
you scare me
:hehe: ...it's all part of your charm Macski
Master Blaster:metalbang::metalbang: I gotta soft spot for Midgets an Mongoloids
The Barter Town scenes are cool, but then Max starts running a daycare and it falls apart.
Here's hoping Fury Road does doesn't fall apart.
Not only did Thunderdome lack the overall dark grittiness of it's predecessors, but was further hindered by the humor they added.
Characters getting smacked in the face or nads with frying pans or whatever, and having them slip into unconsciousness with cliched - sight gag - disoriented smiles on their faces is hardly the thing hardcore post apocalyptic fans want to see. The only thing missing from that scenario was a halo of transparent birds circling the head of the dude slumping into unsciousness. Weak. :dsp:
 halo of transparent birds
