Looks delicious! I can hardly wait to see it complete. :)
I love creature films and this one has definitely grabbed my attention.
I'll watch it!
5/10
Good practical creature effects, that's about it. Mediocre script/direction. Obviously takes a lot from The Thing and Alien. Could have really used some crazy gore or something.
Yeah the movie was pretty bad and despite claiming they weren't gonna use CGI at all, there were lots of bad CG shots. The practical is alright, but honestly nothing special. Could've benefited from better deaths and gore. Characters were annoying or uninteresting, while the script and dialogue was pretty terrible. These guys need to stick to just working behind the scenes for other films instead of making their own. Will have a more detailed review soon :dislike:
Yeah I honestly expected something better considering all the great creature effects they've done. I mean, they worked on Tremors, Starship Troopers, several Alien movies, etc... They could've come up with something better than just some tentacle monster. They said something about it having the dna of all sea creatures and nothing really came of that. I did like that one shot where you see it is translucent, though.
As for cgi, I don't recall any cgi shots, except for maybe the opening. ::shrugs:
There were CG shots here and there. The creature was all practical except for maybe a couple brief shots with tentacles or whatever.
LOVED IT.
7/10.
Such a classic monster/disease movie that should be very hard to screw up, yet so many manage to.
"I can see Alaska from my house in Russia":lol::lol::lol::lol:
This movie sucked. So much potential and sucked regardless.
CG shots...... :yfreaked: seriously.....damn damn damn....and I had high hopes...I am seeing a lot of bad reviews though :stare:
poop! I wanted to be able to add to those come on practical effects please make a come back!!!
Cool to see The Thing and Leviathan nods with maybe a touch of Alien thrown in the mix, but the flick really was nothing more than mediocre at best, and that's being very generous. :dsp:
Leviathan itself was basically The Thing with a bit of Alien thrown in. My ultimate gripe with Leviathan is they wasted Winston's creature effects and we never really got a good look at it's final form. What we do see looks pretty great, sad we never truly see it. Oh, and poor Ernie Hudson. Survives all of that and then... :dsp: Totally a WTF moment.
Been meaning to revisit Levithan :hmmm:
