A building takes over/things coming out of tv's

Hi everyone, new to the site - very helpful forum - hope you guys can help me

I only remember very vague details about this movie and it may be more sci-fi than horror, but it scared me when I saw it when I was younger.

An office building, in the states - skyscraper, takes over - has a brain. And a scene with something (static?) bulging from an old CRT telly.

That's it - sorry about the vagueness, hope someone can help - this ones been bugging me for a long time.

Thanks for that - yes the tv stuff is similar but the movie I'm thinking about was definitely American. Oh and I would have been watching it - late 80s / early 90s I think so the date of your movie was about right but just not the right country.

Could be Poltergeist 3. It takes place in a highrise and I'm sure likely has a TV scene. Haven't watched it in a LONG time so maybe check it out.

Thanks for your replies. I think I've worked out that I've melded two movies together in my mind, one would probably be Poltergeist III as you suggest strtfghtr but also Pulse, both from 1988.
