I have, of late, lost all faith in RT.
Also, stay tuned for the prequel as well.. The title currently in the works is "I Was So Mad at You that I Unfriended You and Now I Want You Back on My Friends List"
Saw this last night and was surprised with how good it was. You have to be into watching tech stuff cuz the whole thing happens on a computer screen so I can see why someone wouldn't wanna see this, but if that doesn't bother you its good. All the programs are real, all the chimes and sounds from all those programs are real. The idiot teenagers act like legit idiot teenagers and not 30 somethings that sound like they're just trying and failing. As the girl types things and then decides to delete them before she sends them you learn more and more about what happened. Things get more and more eerie as you go along. I've always found reading things scarier than seeing them, and this movie pulled that off a lot. They manage to keep the suspense up pretty well. And to be honest any parent with a teenager who wants to see this should let them watch it. The "don't bully people" message here was pretty effective. I started this movie thinking it would be complete crap and for the first time in awhile was real surprised. It would also be real effective if you saw it on a laptop. It just felt pretty realistic, I especially enjoyed her frantic typing and controlling the mouse the more scared she got. It just all actually worked.
I saw this when it came out. I thought it was alright, but it could have been much better. I liked the idea of using Skype to play out the plot and I liked the anti-bullying message. I admit, I even found it a little tense in places on occasion. However, lame jump scares, irritating, awful characters and a lack of interesting kills/decent scares/gore brought this down for me. Not something I'd bother watching again, and I definitely should have waited for it to hit Netflix.
I actually quite liked it. I found it to be quite tense. it kept my attention for the most part and some of the scenes i thought were well done. at least it was a little different.
Movie was MEH. Not scary at all and lots of unintentionally funny scenes. Though it's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but nowhere near as good as many made it out to be either.
Just watched it and I agree with FrighT. I don't regret renting it but it could have been a lot better. Would have appreciated a bit more gore. I do respect that they picked a concept and stuck with it though. The entire film does take place on a computer screen which saved on the annoying "You dropped the camera/cell phone how are you recording this?" nonsense.
will give this a rent as soon as Hommie and I can get free time together
Thought this movie was absolute trash. Did not enjoy it one bit.
