and don't think it's chopping mall. there was nudity, teens having sex in something like an abandoned box car in a train yard, and I think the side of the car was open and this little robot, a lot like the robot spiders from Runaway with Tom Selleck, goes up into the boxcar and melts the teens with a laser. This was the opening scene in the movie. I saw it in the mid to late 80's.

I just registered to post in this thread... The movie is called Light Blast and was made in 1985 with Erik Estrada from CHIPS.
The opening scene is in a rail yard and a terrorist is testing out a new laser to hold a city to ransom. It hits the quartz crystal on the wrist of the teenagers that are fooling around in the box card and then it melts the entire thing, including them. I was 10 when I saw it back in the days of VHS.
There weren't any robots as it was a terrorist with a laser.
In searching, I also found out about a movie called Laser Blast which looks so bad it might be good. :D

I remember seeing this movie almost 25 years ago or so. That's the only scene from the whole movie i remember.
