holocaust movie?

not sure if this one really belongs in the horror category.. i watched this in middle school many moons ago. it was about a Jewish artist that was in a camp. one scene in the movie he is lined up along a ditch. as the Nazis are going down the line shooting the prisoners in the head, they get to him. just then another soldier is calling his name,.. apparently they learned he was an artist and was "recruited to draw for Hitler. anyone know this movie? he sketches scenes with charcoal that he sees while in the camp
