Wonder what North Korea thinks of this :hmmm:
Any movies with those two I will watch. I'm surprised this was green lit.
Sheesh. :leave:

This looks absolutely HYSTERICAL!!!!
:lol::lol::lol:
That looks great
I have been reading negative reviews for this and can't believe the context of them. "Not properly doing political satire." "Self indulgent." Are these reviewers fucking serious or are they afraid to further infuriate North Korea?
I don't give a shit about plot, political satire, or anything else regarding this flick. I'm going to see it because I know full well Rogan and Franco will most likely have me pissing myself silly. Is there another reason to see or judge this flick? If so, please fill me in. :shrugs:
I just don't know how I have not gotten sick of Seth Rogan yet. He plays the same character in every movie, yet I find myself still laughing every time.
I think I saw a promo for an upcoming Naked and Afraid with Seth Rogan.
The recent Sony hack is using this flick as a red herring to throw investigators off the scent, pretending to be done under the direction of, or in support of, N.Korea but it's not true. Spinning it that way is marketing for Sony who may be, ironically, helping out the hackers by entertaining this idea even if it's just for the press.
(edit: yep)

Franco playing the dimwit:hehe: now that shit never gets old. That guy is pure comedic genus :metalbang:
After Guardians of Peace (the cyber terrorist group responsible for the Sony hacks) threatened possible physical attacks at theaters screening THE INTERVIEW yesterday, Carmike Theaters has decided to drop the controversial Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy. Sony is supporting any theater owner who doesn't want to show the film, with a source at the studio telling Deadline, "We’re leaving it up to the discretion of the theater owners and chains and we will support their decision."
Guardians of Peace cited 9/11 in Tuesday's message to Sony, and threatened "We will clearly show it to you at the very time and places 'The Interview' be shown, including the premiere, how bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to."
The New York premiere of THE INTERVIEW has also been scrapped, and Seth Rogen and James Franco have cancelled the rest of their media appearances for the film as well.
While I'm fairly certain Sony will still release THE INTERVIEW next week, I doubt Carmike will be the only theater dropping the movie. This is pretty scary stuff, and at this point having their dirty laundry aired all over the internet is the least of Sony's problems.
:dsp:
Should just give it a VOD release and be done with it :dislike:
Then the terrorists win.
I'm likely to not go to any theater chain that decides they're not going to show this film because of that bullshit threat. I already avoid most theater chains other than the Alamo Drafthouse but this will further my resolve to avoid mainstream chains. I'm surprised that the Arclight is pulling out. I enjoyed going to the Cinerama-Dome in LA and would have gone back there if I was visiting but I'll be less likely to now.
Well, the terrorists won. Sony has officially cancelled this flicks release. Pathetic. So now other countries and a group of hackers can actually affect what movies we can release? Embarrassing.
I wasn't planning on seeing this in the theaters, but I'm appalled that it got pulled and share the sentiment that the terrorists win.
I haven't read too much on it.. but what proof do they have that it's North Korean hackers? I bet it's just some "l33t haxors" from the states.
All of my friends that are hackers say that it's really just about seeing what you can get away with.. it's like children testing the boundaries set by their parents.. if you give in to them acting out.. they'll just act out again and again.
Personally doesn't matter to me if this was goin' to theaters or not since I was never planning on seeing it in the theaters anyway. And the sooner it goes to VOD the sooner a download will be available :watchtv:
This goes beyond wanting to see a movie or not. This movie was fucking cancelled because another country was offended by it and threatened acts of violence against us! Now that they got this reaction who is to say they won't do it again? Sitting here and mulling it over is infuriating. A goofball comedy was actually cancelled because of threats from another country! Did you ever think this would actually happen?
With how aggravating it is for us here just imagine them over there all smug and sitting atop their puny little missles knowing they did this to the United States. Bottom line is another country just went against our amendment for freedom of speech and won!
**EDIT**
And by the way Sony has no plans of releasing the movie in any format at all...so no VOD either.

Meanwhile, Variety reports that Sony has said it currently has no plans to release The Interview in any form -- including VOD or DVD
