Bad-fucking-ass! :rockin:
meh
Been waiting on a badass new western for a while :rockin:
I read the synopsis and I knew I had seen this film somewhere before. This is a remake of the film: Man in the Wilderness (1971) was a good film then, and I'd be interested in what they're going to do with it now. DiCaprio in Richard Harris's role?.............It'll be interesting

Agreed. And this film looks beautifully shot as well.
Looks awesome. :rockin:
Never been a DiCaprio hater like some peeps so i'm cool with that, and Tom Hardy is a definite plus.
The final scene still has yet to been shot!
Could this be the first film (including actor, supporting actor, and director) talked about for awards come February?
From day one, Alejandro Iñárritu’s THE REVENANT sounded like it was going to take an incredible amount of effort to pull off; shot in sequence, in remote locations, using only natural light, in lesser hands I would have doubted that THE REVENANT would even see the light of day. After a spectacular first trailer it seems as though Alejandro Iñárritu and company have managed to pull it off, but the work isn't done yet; due to some uncooperative weather Alejandro Iñárritu has had to switch locations in order to stay ahead of the melting snow.
Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

A lot of people are saying Dicaprio has a good chance to finally win an Academy Award
He has the Tarantino curse where he is so damn good but there is always something ground breaking that beats it out , such as Pulp Fiction coming out the same year as Titanic
He was amazing in Wolf, thought he might get it there.
His performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape is definitely noteworthy.
How can this not be amazing?!
Looks good

Sweetness:thumbup:
Excellent movie! So beautifully shot and filmed, which is expected from the director. He loves those continuous shots and really puts the camera right up in there, which I loved. All of that, plus the natural lighting, made it feel so raw and real. Despite being over 2 hours the time just flew by. And that bear scene :whew: I'd give it an 8/10
Not for everyone since it is super long and dare I say boring at times but I loved it because of the film making alone. Not often we get such a professionally well made on all levels piece of film like this. Dicaprio just has to win this time around...right?
