Um...La La Land
It was actually really great!
WTF is wrong with me :leave:
Space Cowboys (2000) - 6/10
What was with the writing for this movie? The premise, cast, director, cinematography, and music were all present. It seemed as the movie just needed a script with depth.
Angry Birds 7/10 - i fucking loved this movie and you know what? Fuck you to everyone who says you cant do a good video game movie.
Underworld: Blood Wars......meh
Needed to get out and wound up at the theater. It was either this or Bye Bye Man
Mad Max Fury Road for like the 10th time. 9.5/10
Arrival - 9/10.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, 2016. 6/10
WTF, this took place in America with American wizards. And muggles were called non magi. I need my Witchcraft and Wizardry to be British.

Arrival -
Thought provoking and fairly solid with only a few scant issues in relation to the overall story. Recommended.
I liked it too....a tad too cerebral, BUT good.
Yep.
That - and pacing - might be enough to turn some people off. I dug the flick for the most part, but have to say that after skimming through lots of reviews from all over that it's a bit overrated IMO. Alot of people sticking this one way up on high on that coveted gold pedestal. Substantative and thought provoking?... yes. Masterpiece level? Sorry, just can't take that ride.
I will agree it gets a bit overrated by people, but its because of what it is.
A lot of people thought we'd never see another classical sci-fi movie again, a slow burn that emerges you in information by focusing on mathematicians, linguists, biologists, etc. in a lab, solving a problem. After the "nerfing" of sci-fi, it seemed like it would never happen again and as far as i know its only happened a couple times in the past 20 years (this and Primer). And both movies tend to be a bit overrated by their fanbases because they not only made a classical movie style we just dont see anymore, but did it very well. The pacing is perfect, its just not a pace for everyone.
