Craven is crap:negative:
Never did get much of a taste for the Ring remakes or the originals for that matter. Asian horror always comes across as the same to me, some pissed off ghost, usually a child, makes life somewhat uncomfortable for at least two other people.
The remake of TCM wasn't great, IMHO. Although, Jessical Biel is always nice to look at. However, redneck horror always makes me homesick.
And to be added to the list Saw V, coming soon to a theatre near you.
Lost Boys 1
The Old Dark House
Halloween 1
Everything Wes Craven made :smokin2:
I didnt really like The Strangers. It wasnt what i thought it would be.
I am on the fence with ROTLD 3 as well. I kind of like it on its own, but placed with the 1st 2, it just pales in comparison. And I won't go near the 2 new sequels. I caught 5 minutes of Rave From The Grave on Sci Fi and I know that won't have many fans. But it seems the 3rd has quite a few fans...I just don't get it.
I just watched Night of the demons Terrible Terrible movie my God.
Clearly, any well-educated person should be aware of the fact that if there is a film entitled SAW or Hostel, they are in for a roller-coaster made out of shit, that ends in a pool feces. So, in a nutshell, Saw (and the sequels) and Hostel (and the sequel) are nothing but shit, from beginning to end.
Now that I have shit on those shitfests, I must say that both SUSPIRIA and BLAIR WITCH PROJECT are genius pieces of film-making, that are benchmarks in the horror genre, and should be appreciated as cinematic artworks.
If you liked Freddy vs. Jason, and hated Suspiria, you should just go ahead and kill yourself while backyard wrestling, because really, you have nothing to offer the rest of the world.
The end.
I don't really get the appeal of The Blair Witch Project. It was different, and fun to see in the theatres, especially with how they marketed it as being a true story, but it didn't do anything for me. I guess I can appreciate they way it was marketed, sorta reminds me of how William Castle did some of his films, but I remember leaving the theatre expecting more. I don't hate it as much as some people do, but I don't get what's so amazing or scary about it.
suspiria is fuckin boring man, i honestly dont understand how people like it, but then again we all have different tastes
I have one that I haven't seen anyone mention yet, but I've seen many people on this board rave about "My Bloody Valentine" and I could never get into it.
Otherwise, I like almost all the other movies mentioned on here, but I guess I just admire the classics. I'm not a fan of all of the fast-paced crap they feed us today and I think both "Hostel" and the "Saw" franchise (although I liked parts one and two) are over rated. I also didn't think "The Blair Witch Project" was all that special...but to each his own.
The Descent
Hellraiser
The Exorcist
Poltergeist
I didn't like 28 days later. It seemed like it really really wanted to be a Romero film but failed. I liked weeks though.
Also The Descent was a bit crap, once you get past the "Ooh! Little monsters! Cool!" stage. The actresses were so annoying (except for Natalie Mendoza who is sexy as hell) that I couldn't wait for them to be picked off, which kind of goes against what horror stands for - you're meant to be able to sympathise with the characters and try and imagine what you would do in their situation. Instead I just chanted "Die! Die! Die!". Sure, I got my wish in the end but still felt unfulfilled.
