I know it is pretty much a rumor, but I would really dig if they rebooted the 97 film. I mean make it darker, bloodier...just fucking righteous.
Who is with me? Now they could have an epic movie, that would be the shit...

There was supposed to be a much darker sequel years ago, but it never happened :myhead:
Meh. It's time has expired IMO.
I'd watch it since they're remaking everything else. But It would have to be way darker and bloodier.:bashyou:
The animated series :rockin:
yeah, I'd take a look at it....bloodier and darker would be a plus.
You know, just not having Spawn save a homeless boy and a puppy would have made the first movie twice as dark.
With The Incredible Hulk and Batman Begins, it's been proven that after a shitty movie, you can come back and make a good one. With superheroes being at their peak of popularity, I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up yet. The first movie had overacting, mostly from Michael Jai White, and a bad script. Get someone who loves the material, like Del Toro to Hellboy, and make it a serious, dark tale from Hell. Like it's supposed to be.
Todd McFarlane has been in talks with Sony for awhile about a SPAWN reboot since he now owns the movie rights again. Apparently his finances haven't been all that great and that is one of the hold ups to getting the movie started as Sony doesn't want to pay for the entire budget. I think it could be interesting if they went for a full on R-rated version of the story, like HBO did with their animated series. I didn't mind the original version of SPAWN though, especially the Un-Rated DVD version.
I would watch it. I am also glad they did not go through with the sequel since they were thinking of making it kinda like Seven with Spawn in the background. When i first heard this years ago i was like "what the fuck" since it was one of the most ridiculous things i have ever heard. So, anyway yeah a reboot is not a bad idea for this one.
Oh hell yeah. I've always dug the Spawn character.
The first movie wasn't too bad imo. I really loved John Leguizamo as Clown/Violater.
I totally agree with the R rating as well. Make that shit brutal.
If they made it, I would watch it.
personally i was cool with the first Spawn
1. i like michael jai white as Spawn, no denying he was a badass
2. the clown kicked ass and was funny
3. had some cool scenes (except when they to hell, cheesy CGI lol)
then again it wasnt dark enuff and needed more blood
but i say bring back the old cast and just make it darker n gorier
:zombie:
Can't go wrong with Dark and Gory. John Leguizamo with a good Violator.
Would take a pass. Dug the animated series though.
Reboot, or the sequel I have been waiting for since 1997. Movie was ok, and paled in comparisson to the animated series, but enjoyable none the less.
First movie was lame except for John Leguizamo (sp?) being in it. I really don't care for any other Spawn movies unless (like most have said) it is darker and more violent like what Spawn was known for.
Paul Giammati as The Clown/Violator
