hmm, we'll see.
Again, I think Anime will become the new "It" in hollywood.
And like all other Hollywood fad's, they'll all be flops including this.
The anime was pretty boring, but I'll see this.

According to Variety, DreamWorks Pictures has hired screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis to adapt the Japanese manga Ghost In The Shell. Ari Arad and Steven Paul of Seaside Entertainment are attached to produce the 3D live-action film which will follow the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime. Masamune Shirow created Ghost In The Shell, which saw its debut in 1989. The series was successful in Japan, as the series created two more manga editions, three anime film adaptations and an anime TV series. The second anime film, Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence, was released in the US back in 2004 by DreamWorks.
This could turn out good.
Does Anime turned live action ever work out? Somehow I don't think Ghost in the Shell would translate well.
Rarely. I'd use Death Note as an example, but I didn't watch the anime before the movies and the movies are based on the mangas anyway.

Doesn't look too bad :hmmm:
Nice to see Beat Takeshi again
Looks fucking terrible.
Im sure it will be right in line with Oldboy, in that Hollywood should be no where near the movie because they are incapable of doing it correctly. And uhhh.... ghost's success will lead us one step closer to that mythical Akria remake, and everything ive ever enjoyed in cinema will have been destroyed.... oh yes Mr. Lucas, it got even worse after the release of the prequel trilogy, every movie you ever loved got fucked after that.
I don't know why people cast Scarjo. She has a one dimensional acting method where she looks the same in every single movie. For all I know Black Widow or Lucy is in this flick.
Beat Takeshi :rockin:
The movie did a pretty good job of bringing the anime to life. It's visually stunning with some nice practicals and CG, but that aside if you've already seen the anime it's based on then there's nothing new here storywise. And they honestly didn't need Scarlett Johansson in it as the lead, it definitely seemed "white washed" in that aspect, especially when you find out the truth about her character by the end. I'd give it a high 6/10. It's entertaining and nice to look at but other than that it's kinda MEH.
It took me like eight times to watch this movie.
I still have no interest in watching this. Though I may re-watch the anime some time. :hmmm:
