i dug the ending. kind of a twilight zone ending. real good movie though
*spoiler alert*
Sorry if this is a repost but i didn't see the topic. Anyway has any of you guys watched this yet? i watched it last night and thought it was pretty decent for a Stephen King story since most of them translate to crap on the silver screen. The ending i seen it coming a mile away though...
I really liked it... don't know how anyone could predict and ending like that though...
dude i was totally expecting him to kill them people and then the army show up, i knew that was gonna happen.
Movie was fucking lame.
i loved it
I tried watching it today, I got to the first terrifying mist involvment after the generator and I passed out...Ill need to rewatch this fuckin thing again.
Looks fun. I also enjoyed the night flier by King. I think that is very underrated IMO.
I liked it. The Endin' is still iffy for me. I just gotta re-watch it.
Still have not seen it.
Pretty good flick.
good movie def getting it today!
I've heard the ending sux but I'm still gonna give it a rent cuz I like monster movies.
I liked the movie all the way up to the tacked-on ending... If the movie would've ended like the short-story, it would have been fine... but no... It seems the filmmakers decided it would jolly good to see if they could come up with an unnecessary ending that was guaranteed to send pretty much all of the audience home with a frown on their faces... there was no other reason I can think of for them to have made an ending like that, other than to piss off the audience.
I haven't seen it, but I'm looking forward to watching it. It seems like a lot of people like it and if that's the case, I'll enjoy it as well. Frank Darabont has done well with these Stephen King movies. Hopefully he will decide to do more!
I think it was a pretty good movie. Great story.
I don't understand all the backlash for the ending? Not everything needs to end on a Hollywood high-note, even the short story's ending isn't too pleasant... and I'm sure ending on something as ambiguous as the short story does, there would still be bitching and moaning. As for the movie, it was great... sure there's some questionable line deliveries here and there, but horror rarely produces shit that actually emphasizes on character development... the movie borderlines satire. Watching it in black & white certainly adds to the atmosphere and overall creepiness, but the version isn't completely superior... I would have no issues watching it in color again. 2007 was a good year for King, 1408 and The Mist are among his best adaptations yet.
