oh, that is not good.
Buy it..
Deep red is friggen sweet.
I watched E Tanta Paura.. that's not a giallo is it? I dunno.. it had some elements of a giallo..
No it's definitely not, and you're dead on, it merely has some Giallo elements tossed in there.
The film itself is a police procedural and doesn't even feel right at that. Plot of Fear did have some really cool moments, sweet ass locales, a humorous opening scene, but overall felt silly. Nothing even close to 'Black Belly' which is on of the better Gialli out there.
Even though it wasn't as described I'd still like to pick your brain, thoughts on it?
I <3 Giallo!! just finished profondo rosso, it's still one of my fave top 4. im gonna watch inferno later
My 2 new Gialli reviews are up check em..

Just finished Deep Red....what can I say fuckin amazing. The cinematography was fantastic....the best I have seen so far. I was kept on the edge of my seat throughout the movie...music amazing..Goblin rocks man. Had no clue at all who the killer was but the black gloves with the gold zipper....holy fuck I want a pair. Awesome kills..but not enough. Love the steam in the bathroom scenes. 9/10 for me....Tenebre still my favourite Giallo to date 10/10...
Glad you enjoed it so much. It's definately one that's well known, and for good reason too.
Deep Red was good but i'd didn't find it as sensational as most.
As for a new recommendation for you w00den i'd strongly recommend Torso. One of my favorite Gialli, certainly one of the more mean spirited ones. The fact Sergio Martino (Strange Vice, Your Vice) directed it doesn't hurt either :cooldude:
'Who Saw Her Die' will be my next giallo
Just watched
Death Walks on High Heels
Who Saw her die
Murder Mansion (not a giallo)
As much as I love Torso, I never really thought of it as a giallo. I'm not arguing with you, It feels like it's in a class of it's own. I guess because it's so much more violent and sexually charged than most giallos I've seen. It also didn't have much of a plot or even a lot of dialogue from what I recall. I do remember A LOT of lesbians and a bow saw.
The last 15-20 minutes of that film had to be some of the most intense shit I've ever seen. Mean spirited might just be an understatement to describe this one.
That's a fairly accurate description, it is however a Giallo, merely one of the darkest ever made.
finally got 'Five Dolls for an August Moon' in the mail today, i'll watch it tonight sometime
haven't seen that one yet, lemme know if it's any good..
If you have seen, and liked Agatha Christies Ten Little Indians ( a.k.a. And Then There Were None ) You should like this, as it's Bavas version of the tale . I thought it was pretty decent 6 / 10
