it got a million votes after all. Looks like a wide release. Sweet! I'm like a few other posters here. I'm having a hard time believing its THAT good. But hell if it comes out here I'll watch it. I did bother to go to the site and request it a few days ago.
I'll wait for the DVD
I got back from it a couple of hours ago. For the most part, it's a slow movie and I will agree that the trailers did over hype this movie. But pushing all of that aside. It wasn't an entirely bad film IMO. I would give it about a 6.5/10.
Would I say it's the scariest film of the year, no. I'd recommend for those who are partial to ghost films, can use their imagination to fill in the gaps, and/or suspend disbelief. Otherwise, I wouldn't go see it.
Hmm really, I can think of 1 scare that was not shown in the trailer, and that is not involving the attic (which wasn't a scare). And when I say scare, I mean a scare to yo u, because to me the whole movie had 1 scare and it was not even that scary.
And as you said the 'TWO THAT DID FREAK YOU OUT". If the 'scariest movie of the decade' only has two scares, then it is probably not the horror movie of the decade. Hell this movie was not even in the top 50 scariest movies of the decade.
My love for TDR does not mean I think 'highly' of it. All it means is that I enjoyed a fun film. TDR is not one of my favorite horror movies at all. So you two need to get your facts checked PRONTO.
sweet, its comin to my theater. I won't be expecting the greatest movie ever like their hyping it to be. But I'll check it out.
The movie started out really slow. It took about thirty minutes for something interesting to happen or just for something to happen. The couple was annoying as hell especially the inconsiderate boyfriend with the overbite. I might even have to agree that they're acting wasn't the best during certain parts and throughout the movie, I felt I was watching a really long youtube video. There were a a few thrills in this movie and would give it more credit than to compare it to Blaire Witch.
However, I was scared shit when I got home!! I was fine until I saw the attic in my bedroom closet then I was hearing noises and had to sleep in my roommates room. Even then I couldn't sleep.
Amen brother! Movie was nothing more than hype, hype and more hype. In my opinion biggest let down of the decade...Maybe not the biggest but up there. (wasn't expecting much anyways). And Devil's Reject was scary due to the realism of it, I loved the movie, but not my fave horror movie.
My biggest gripe and its similar to the one in BWP... they try to play the actors off as real people. I remeber thinking the bwp cast was real and dead, and then saw themon Letterman. Same thing here, they play them off as if they are real people, and then you go on imdb, and they show other movies the woman acted in. And before someone says, no its actors replaying what happened, the characters and actors share the same name.
I dug it.
Showed that a good fright flick doesn't have to be all splatter(not that I have an issue with that).
Old school creepy, building tension... not really a let down.
Went the extra mile that the BWP didn't, showed enough to take it past a "maybe something happened" cinema verite flick.
Props for the concept and making it work.
I have no doubt it will be torn apart here as well as my post, but... ya know whatever.
dude i was just giving you shit because your raggin on a movie with the username devilsreject fan, you just need to calm the fuck down, also if its not one of your favorites then why have it as your username....last time i checked tcmfan wasnt taken or about 100 other horror movies that are better than the devils rejects
I will be watching this one when i get the chance too.
Damn my little down in Oklahoma.. I wanna see this like now
