Hungerford 2014 -
Better than average British indie flick. It's a sci-fi horror mixture of The Puppet Masters/zombie apocalypse/ and maybe a dash of REC here and there. Much better than I expected, and definitely better than the IMDB rating. Worth a watch IMO. Skip the IMDB user reviews and hit the critic reviews. They're a lot more on the money with this one.
The Black Cat (1934)
8/10
The Darkest Dawn (2016)
Darkest Dawn is a British indie sequel to Hungerford (2014), and a pretty decent follow-up IMO. It takes place immediately after the first flick, with a returning cast. With both flicks clocking in around 75-80 minutes apiece, i'd recommend watching them back to back for a feature length story.
I'm a fan of indie flicks more so now these days than I ever have been before, and these 2 are good examples as to why that is. Decent acting, fast pacing, and production, on a very limited budget, and manages to tell a simple and effective - (albeit unoriginal) story. I think that they did a great job with what they had on limited resources, and will be looking for more stuff in the future from these guys. Well done.

Ouija Origin of Evil - 5 of 10.... it was five times better than the first one, making progress.
Sinister 2
Plan Z (2016) -
It was alright. Nothing new to the zombie genre really. The tone is a bit more serious than typical zombie/virus apoc flicks. The focus on the living was more of a brooding character study rather than a balls to the wall survival that we're used to seeing, which was kind of refreshing maybe, but at times didn't seem to fit a scene or work very well. What action there is wasn't always - but often enough - blocked camera angle shots, or simply an all out assumed demise.
The choreography of the kills often seemed forced and uncoordinated as well. If you're going to be stingy about showing the actual visual knockout blow, then at least have the choreography part down. Wasn't always that way, but often enough to be remembered.
I still feel that it's worth a watch if you dig on general zombie/virus apoc flicks. There's a ton of 'em out there and you can definitely do a lot worse than Plan Z.
