The problem I have is the same that plagued recent comedies such as Anchorman and Zoolander. There is just so much friggen time in between these movies that magic of what made the originals is almost always lost.
The original is such a great horror flick. It came out of nowhere to be one of the best original ideas in quite some time and it still holds up extremely well and remains a favorite on many lists. For a sequel to come out
this far apart I don't care where they think they are taking the story the important aspect of keeping the tone and feel of the original is imperative or it simply will not hold up. Can it do that after all this time?
I will see it eventually. Not going to go out of my way though
:confident:
Just read that post-production has almost wrapped on this, and I’ve got to admit, I’m kind of intrigued to see this (if only due to how long they’ve struggled to make this happen).
The first wasn’t half bad, but I didn’t rate the second that highly. I think this has potential, if done right. I do wonder if it’ll get a wide release or be pushed to a limited release, though.
Is it true that this is going to be released for only one day because the director is a child molester?
It was a different time, raping kids was just a "thing" back then.

seriously though I think a lot of it has to do with the internet and abundance of information available now. I saw JC 1 in theaters and had no idea of Salva's background at the time. (it's not like that shit was on the poster)
Yeah especially with social media spreading information so fast and easy. I forgot when or how I found out but it was many years ago and after I had already watched Salva's other films and it honestly didn't make me dislike his movies any less. It obviously made me not like the guy and I'm disgusted by his actions, but I still enjoy his movies. I personally try to seperate the person from the work, especially if the work is stuff I really dig. It's sad what happened behind the scenes of Clownhouse, but the movie itself is still pretty solid.
Original is one of my favourites looking forward to this
Salva being a piece of shit was up front and in your face when Powder came out. If I remember correctly that movie was heavily boycotted because of him being a pedo, which was 6 years before Jeepers Creepers.
You know, if they were to cut out that one scene in the beginning with the three boys getting undressed, you wouldn't have missed a thing and it could be liable for an official DVD release. But like you said, Clownhouse is still a solid flick, despite the horrible things happening behind the scenes and not liking Salva after finding out, it was rather crushing for me to find out.
