It seems that the dcu will be largely phased out. DC is no longer looking at making a large expanded universe, the films going forward will largely be unconnected to each other. What if justice league turns out to be great and a runaway success though?

Wow, just complete failure. I suppose that's what happens when you put all of your eggs in one snyder shaped basket. This is both a blessing and a horrible shame. It's a blessing because DC has the best elseworlds stories, and not having a connected universe allows DC to make movies like Superman Red Son, Gotham by Gaslight, and even something amazing like Kingdom Come. None of these would be possible with a connected universe, but at the same time brilliant takes and runs of connected films like Tower of Babble, Darkseid stories, Batman Hush, etc will all be less effective without a connected universe.
It's safe to say for anyone that this is the nail in the coffin for the Marvel vs DC debate cinema-wise. Marvel and Disney were able to make a completely connected universe and even improve on films with it while DC and WB was an utter failure at the same task.

DC films president says his fomments were taken out of context and they aren't ditching the connected film universe. They are just giving directors and writers more freedom. Some movies will be more connected than others, but still be part of the shared universe.

I refuse to let myself get excited for this movie...the tone seems odd for their previous films, not that changing their tone is a bad thing, it just doesnt seem like the same storyline
-
Also is it just me or does Cyborg look like a CGI mess?
-
I am pretty excited for the film myself. Cyborg looks pretty cool at least to me.
-
I'm gonna try to go see it this week sometime or early next week.
I heard some good things about it.
We shall see.
-
I liked it, just wish Zack Snyder got to finish his version and not that horrible hack Joss Whedon. The Superman cgi face is so bad. :myhead: The post-credit scene is very cool, though.
Still better than any Disney Marvel movie. :2thumbs::2thumbs:

I've been hearing a ton of positive reviews on it.

You can really tell where Joss took over shooting. I'm pretty sure all the "buddy" scenes were done by him, and I liked it. I do hope we get a Snyder cut, just to see what he would have done differently. And as a comic book fan in general, I hope both DC and marvel do well and give us great flicks. And as far as the CGI mouth, I wasn't looking for it, so maybe that's why it didn't bother me at all.

I didn't feel like spending money to go see this movie. I'll Redbox it for a buck fifty in a few months.
-
I liked the movie. The second half was definitely better than the first and that superman fight was pretty awesome. Didn't really care much for the villain, but other than that the movie was enjoyable.
-
yeah, the villain was kinda weak. Over all an enjoyable movie. If anyone uses Kodi, there is a good copy out now.

A swing and a miss, for me. Not as total a fiasco as Suicide Squad, but close. IMO Gal Gadot and Affleck are the only real saving graces. Although I didn't like Affleck as much in Justice League as I did in Batman v Superman, despite liking that movie even less. Aquaman and The Flash's characterizations are so far off that they don't even qualify as Aquaman and The Flash. In fact, watching this flick felt like watching a SyFy cash-in on The Avengers in which they couldn't get the character rights, so they renamed them. Aquaman is Hawkeye; Bruce Wayne is Tony Stark (minus the snark); The Flash is Spider-Man (even his relationship with Wayne whiffs strongly of the Stark/Parker relationship in Civil War); Wonder Woman is an amalgamation of Thor and Captain America; Steppenwolf is a really bad CGI Loki; Cyborg is Vision; the Parademons are the Chitauri, the Mother Boxes are the Infinity Stones; and Superman is...I have no idea. He looks like Superman, kind of, and has Superman's powers, but from a character standpoint he's a void. Cavill's a good actor, but even a good actor can be miscast, and IMO he's miscast as Superman. Dude has the presence of a block of granite.
These characters deserve better. Well, maybe not Cyborg -- he's mostly known for his stint with the Teen Titans, and I've no idea why they'd use him in a Justice League movie when Martian Manhunter is right there, begging to be adapted to the big screen. If only Snyder and Goyer weren't so busy trying to update them for the Millennial crowd, and instead trusted that the classic characterizations are what people love and want to see. And for the love of God, Snyder, ease up on the slo-mo. You're not directing a Resident Evil sequel. 3/10, being generous.

Finished watching it on amazon video. Movie was awesome and quite enjoyed it. It was great seeing the flash and cyborg getting lots of screen time after being teased in movies. I am a big fan of ben affleck's batman. Great seeing all these heroes together. It's a shame this film didn't do well over all because it really is good.

Finally got around to seeing this yesterday. The movie itself wasn't too great, but I'm glad they didn't make Superman look like a bitch, which was nice to see. Lol
