I've seen Mother of Tears, it is completely different than Inferno and Suspiria.
It has tons of gore, but it also has a few scenes I found completely unnecessary.
If you like Argento films i'd recommend it
On another not I hated those two Fulci Gialli.
I'll pm you bout flicks 36' :D
-
-
Not a fan of Fulci's giallos? I think his will never quite be on par with Argento's in mulitple ways, but I still like them.
I have a few unopened ones: Black Belly of The Tarantula, You Vice is a Locked Door, Strip Nude for Your Killer (with Edwige Fenech), The Killer Must Kill Again, and The French Sex Murders. I also Have Fulci's Murder Rock which I found a little dull.
Have you heard of Strip Nude or French Sex Murders? I know you mentioned the other ones already.
-
I can tell you right now Your Vice is a Locked Room, and Black Belly of the Tarantula, are excellent Gialli. Strip Nude for Your Killer is fun but it's nowhere near as good as the other two. I haven't seen the French Sex Murders yet, but it is on my list of must see flicks. Lemme know if it's any good
Edwige :drooling:
-
Yeah, she is pretty hot. Saw her cameo in Hostel II and I must say she has aged very well. I didn't realize she was in so many movies until I really expanded my giallo collection.
Have you seen The Killing Hour? Just picked it up from Best Buy along with New York Ripper. Already seen NY Ripper, but never heard of Killing Hour, but it sounded like something right up my alley so I grabbed it.
-
Same story as you, i've seen NY Ripper, but haven't heard about Killing Hour. Time for me to imdb it :D
-
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087555/
"the murders are inventive (although not gory)"
Not liking the sound of that :nono:
-
The Killer Must Kill Again is one that I definitely recommend, it's very good.. I've passed up New York Ripper a couple of times at the store, next time I will pick it up, i'm a sucker for Fulci..
-
This is too funny i'm just reading a review for that film on imdb, and I clicked this thread and here you posted about it :mhehe:
-
I expected more out of The Killer Must Kill Again. Sometimes movies get too much hype and instead of rocking your face off, they leave you wanting more. Maybe i'll watch it again.
I also just got Secrets of a Call Girl (another Edwige Fenech film) in the mail today along with A Whisper in The Dark. It was part of a set called "Nude in the Dark". Not sure if they constitute giallo films, but they sound like it. And who can say no to anything with nude in the title?
-
Heard Secrets of a Call Girl dvd came with a nice *bonus*
-
oooh really? Is it a *bonus* I will enjoy, or more like a male audience? This is starting to sound less like a b-day present for me and more like one for my b/f! :shakehead: lol
-
I think it's a foldout pic or card of nekkid Ediwige :ahheh:
-
Yeah, it's not a Giallo I don't think..
And mine came with a booklet of liner notes and biographies on 3 of the actors, it just happens to have a few pictures from the movie of Edwidge nude but covered conveniently in all the right places.. sorry to disappoint you Steelba :point:
-
you just really suck today King
-
I just watched 'The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire'
Very good Giallo, had some nice gore, and good tension/suspense.
The stunning scenery and locals kept me interested in the slower parts. The music in it was pretty good, although overused in a few scenes.
I would rate it an 8/10.
I found the German trailer for it, but be warned...

This is my first venture into Giallo with the viewing of Bay Of Blood.
Let's see the atmosphere, color, camera shots, the blood and killings followed by the beautiful scenery of a sunset.....brilliant! I call it " visual contrast with awesome violence". I loved it. The first scene had me hooked. I wanted more. It fed all my senses. I will travel farther into Mr. Bava's cinematic endeavors. Looking to view Blood and Black Lace and Black Sunday. My next trip though will be Delirium. I am very excited........I am being torn...underground...Giallo...underground....Giallo.
Hahaha..life is good.
Oh yeah, I dig Bridgitte Skay's dress, I have awesome boots that would go with it.
-
Delirium is a good flick, it will be an overload on everything you mentioned.
I think you'll enjoy it :smokin2:
-
Are you talking about Bava's Delirium or Polselli's Delirium?
