Tenebre 8/10
Just watched 'What Have They Done to your Daughters'
It was different than most, because it was told from the perspective of the police.
There were a few cool gory scenes, like the torso chunks on the autopsy table, and some nice meat cleaver action. The music was really catchy, but parts of it were annoying. Pretty good tension and some great shocks, something different, but enjoyable.
I guess a 7/10 is right for this one :smokin2:
69% :smokin2:
Tenebre is 100%....I will be "Giallo''...ing all day.
My new review is up check peep's http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/reviews/iguana.php
100% :celebrate:
Strange Vice coming next..
:nod:Just got done watching Deep Red really good Argento flick 8/10 by far.
I watch The Strange Vice Of Mrs. Wardh yesterday. I can boldly say this is MY favorite Giallo film. I think it will always be. It featured enough twists to keep me interested from start to finish. It had great suspence from the start and it never ended. The danger of the stalk and the slash scenes were done beautifully. Julie's psychedelic flashbacks were both senuous and creepy at the same time. The music score adds much class to the movie. Julie Wardh, the three men in her life, blackmailing, black gloves and a razor....I was in heaven. The ending was fantastic. I was totally awed. Yes steelba, your lovely Edwige Fenech is quite beatuiful. I go on record again by saying I loved it and this film IS my favorite!
Am watching tomorrow^^^
The Red Queen Kills 7 Times is at 55%.. gonna be a giallo day tomorrow..
Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll 6/10
Not sure what to say about this Spanish Giallo. I will try and gather my thoughts on it and post more details in the morning. It did have 1 really disturbing scene, and was 'different'..
I just got done finishing The Girl Who Knew Too Much (1963)
I give it a 7/10
Your Vice... this is the perfect giallo, I loved the music most of all.. I would of enjoyed the ending way more if I hadn't seen a similar ending in
Spoiler...Two Evil Eyes
.
How would you rate this next to Tenebre? I have had a hard time with it, it's either #1 or #2 for me.. That other movie you saw and this were both loosely based on the same Edgar Alan Poe story, if that helps
Cool that there is another fan of this movie & it's not just me anymore :cooldude:
Tenebre....thats your sig....holy fuck! What are you doing to me! Blood across white walls....hell yeah! Graphic violence, pages ripped from books, black gloves, straight razors, high body count and an axe. Add in a fantasic story line and Tony Franciosa and I say 10/10! More, I need more!
My ratings to date:
Tenebre 10/10
The Strange Vice of Mrs.Wardh 9/10
Delirium 8/10
Bay Of Blood 7.5/10
What's next? How about this Suspiria I heard you and K.I.N.G talk about?
Maybe Your Vice? Lead me...My soul needs more!
I'd say check out You're Vice is a Locked Room and Only I have the Key. Or The Red Queen Kills 7 Times, both are right up there with Tenebre imo. Either way I liked them more than Mrs.Wardh, if that tells you anything :ahheh:
Suspiria isn't a Giallo, it's a supernatural flick, good yes, but no Giallo.
Your Vice it is. I will throw in Suspiria too..I am in need of something supernaturalish.
so do you guys consider Bay of Blood a true Giallo? I watched it before I saw any other giallo's and considered it more of a slasher. Not that it matters, but still I was wondering.
