I look forward to this.
Sony is creating another sequel with the Russo brothers directing. Sony is forming Ghostcorps a part of the Sony studio that will work on all Ghostbusters related things with Dan Akroyd and Ivan Reitman involved. Already this has more talent involved then the Paul Feige version

I can already see the cash grab film of the future, when the women ghostbusters and the guy ghostbusters meet. Then they will shit out so many sequels you will say, "Avengers who?"
That is actually the plan but Sony is saying it's not strictly an all male crew and might be a mix of both. But they are looking to pair up Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt and have the two teams meet up from the two movies in a later film. If the films turn out good then what does it matter? all films are cash grabs whether you're making an indie film or a big budget movie.

Wow well this got really complicated. Now there is ANOTHER Ghostbusters rumored to be made starring Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt. It will be set in the same universe as the all female Ghostbusters and eventually the series will merge ala like the Avengers franchise.

Badass Digest dug a little deeper into the story and discovered several surprising things; first off, this new reboot isn’t “male-centric” it will merely have these two guys at the center of it. Which two guys you say, well apparently the whole project was designed to team up real-life friends Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt. Did you know they were buddies? Why didn’t anyone tell me?
As we mentioned yesterday this movie will apparently stand alongside the Paul Feig film in the same universe. That’s right; another franchise, another shared universe. A third film would then join both casts together ala THE AVENGERS. A fourth film, said to be a prequel, is also in the works.
I think it would be better if they mixed them both right now...not drag it out to a series of mediocre movies. I'd much rather see two of the girls and two of the guys together and maybe some cameos of the original busters. :shrugs:
Yeah, it's all pretty confusing. Right now I have this other Ghostbusters listed as "Ghostbusters Spinoff" on UHM :myhead:
They don't even know how the one with the ladies will do, why make another?
It's all about the $$, the studio is confident that the new films will make bank and even if they don't there's a lot in merchandising and stuff.
The original spawned off a merchandising machine and children's cartoons and other ways to rake in money. Even if these movies suck there really is hardly any risk for money loss here. The better question is why did it take so long to actually get them going, they are 100% guaranteed to make bank.
I can't wait to get my proton pack, PKE meter and ghost trap! I had them as a child but my mother gave them away grrrrr.:cussing::backstab:
Honestly, let this series rest in peace. I hate the reboot idea and I hate to see this series turned into a gimmick. It had a good run with the two movies, the two animated series, the comics and the video game (which was pretty much the third movie in game form).
If anything good is to come out of this, maybe GB2 will finally be respected more. I'm in the minority but I always loved GB2 and while I'd never argue it being better than the first, I always enjoyed it as much and still do. Both are a great double feature.
I don't understand all the uproar and anger towards the reboot...its not like the movies are that great to begin with. They're okay people...just ok.
I'm all for the female reboot because of the talent behind it, but that male reboot? Channing Tatum? Excuse me while I throw the fuck up. That's like losing any credibility and merit the original franchise once had.
Just ok? The second one sure.. first is a classic.
I don't see either doing justice for the newer fans. Its been 25 years since the last one came out and now with Harold Remis gone anyway, I don't see a point. The female version just comes off as obnoxious to me. Is this supposed o about their daughters? Is the fat one Rey's daughter? I am guessing the black chick would be Winston's daughter.
In odd casting news Chris Hemsworth has been signed on to be the Ghostbusters receptionist :stare2:
The same role Annie Potts filled in the originals.
Thor is a respetionist :stare2: Sorry, sorry, I mean Administrative Assistant.
I have no faith in either movie. The girl reboot or otherwise.
