Trailer supposedly comes out this Friday
it'll most likely debut with Hereditary
Very meh trailer
What a bland and disappointing trailer. I assumed it would at least have an original story, but seriously? Was the goal to just remake the first Halloween? Of course what I'm about to say is just based off a trailer. This looks like every other Halloween flick to ever come out. Halloween night, three teens walking down the street talking on a fall day, Michael escapes from mental institution, goes to the mechanic to get his jumpsuit... Seriously, this SEEMS like a complete remake from the first Halloween. And while we're at it..
Why are they skipping the sequel again? It flowed unbelievably well for a sequel to a horror flick. They even acknowledge it in the trailer! They could have left that Michael was Laurie's brother in there and maybe in this film find out that he's actually not her brother or something. It just makes me think that they wanted to remake the original so badly. It's got the same damn premise. And I'm sorry, but Jamie Lee Curtis looks ridiculous in this. She's in her 60s and is seen stopping a knife from Michael Myers in like hand to hand fighting. It all seems ridiculous.
Of course after all my bitching I'm still going to watch it to form my own opinion, but it just looks silly and unoriginal. At this point I rather watch H20 and the first 10 minutes of Resurrection.
So fucking good!
I’m down for this!
Not bad. Not getting any high hopes for it, though. Like DM said, the formula is definitely stale at this point. I know they're just disregarding everything passed the first, but it definitely still has been the same as pretty much every other.
I hope it's just good enough. That's honestly the most I can ask for, as I know I'm asking way too much to finally just have this series laid to rest.
I've already seen this movie. Once when it was called H20 and the other time when Rob Zombie did a remake of the original. By the looks of things, this will just blend those two movies together with some new "clever" twists and turns. I'll watch it, of course...but I already know it's gonna be shit.
Also, I've been reading about two potential spoilers for the ending
Spoiler...One supposed ending is Laurie has a climactic fight with Shatnerface and gets stabbed. This is where her daughter comes in and kills Michael with a crossbow.
The other one is supposed that even though Michael kills people, he doesn't kill all the poeple that die. Suppsedly Laurie's granddaughter is the copycat killer.
I hope the movie is better than the trailer
The hype for this movie is so ridiculous even if people hate it they are going to say they love it. That is a fact.
Yeah, like they're gonna just let some documentary crew inside Smith's Grove lol to confront Myers. Lol.
The mask is crazy accurate WOW.
Looks very promising to me.
Then allow me to be an example to the contrary. Just based on that ho-hum trailer, the fact that it's callously disregarding every film besides the original, and the fact that it's written by a comedic actor of whom I am not at all a fan (I hear Danny McBride's a sweetheart in real life, but still), I'm about as close to hating this movie as you can get without having seen it first. I'll see it because I'm a completist (which is just another way of saying "glutton for punishment") but I'm not at all looking forward to it.
The trailer got me intriqued. :hmmm:
The Trailer looked very promising and the fact that Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter are involved makes this a must-see.
