Although Fenech and Hilton were in Iris, Martino didn't direct it. Not sure who did, but it wasn't Martino.

Suspiria and Inferno aren't gialli, but they are great movies.
To start off, this movie isn't a giallo.
Anyway, I thought it was alright until the ending. It turned a decent, fairly straight forward movie into a joke. I hated the ending.
I don't understand all the hate that Diary gets. I'm looking forward to this one.
I really enjoyed MoT as well, although I felt the ending was way too abrupt. I don't understand why so many people dislike it.
Bay of Blood is the bridge between the giallo and the slasher. There's elements of both in it, which is why it's so hard to categorize it into just 1 of the subgenres.. Friday the 13th would later...
Fulci's movies are either really good or really bad. It's a toss up.
I always thought that H2 was one of the best horror sequels. You can watch it back to back with Halloween and it doesn't even feel like 2 different movies. It just feels like one really long movie.
The only thing about Lewton's cult films is that even though their budgets were miniscule and they are cult movies, the movies were funded by a huge company (RKO). I don't think Lewton's movies would...
Lewton was actually a producer, not a director. People such as Jacques Tourneur, Robert Wise, and Mark Robson were people who directed the movies that Lewton produced.
I've seen New York Ripper at Best Buy. Same with Case of the Bloody Iris and a few others.
Underground horror is as much a sub-genre as vampire, werewolf, monster, or haunted house movies. I love ALL horror, whether it's a horror movie with no blood (The Haunting '63, etc.) or whether it's...
The Thing '82
House of Wax '53 (remake of Mystery of the Wax Museum)
I prefer Horror of Dracula (Hammer) over Dracula (Universal)
That's all I can think of right now.
People say it absolutely sucks. I thought it was pretty decent (6/10 or so) until the last 10-15 minutes or so. With that, I'll agree with your fart comment :)
The last 10-15 minutes made the...
I have that one also and haven't watched it yet either. And yes, Edwige is droolworthy :)
I believe that The Card Player came out more recently than Sleepless and is also a giallo. The movie isn't that good, but it's still more recent.
Haven't seen Sleepless yet though. I'll have to...
Agreed about the heavy metal soundtrack and the fact that Argento has done better. Still a very good giallo though.
The ending still seems so anti-Argento to me though.
Glad you enjoyed it
You won't be disappointed.
I liked Diary. I thought it was an improvement from Land, which I also like, but find to be the worst of the Dead series. I'm looking forward to this.
So you've seen exactly 1 Argento movie and you think it's possibly Argento's best film to date..... I would hope so.
