That's because of inflated ticket prices that they broke the record. It's nowhere near the number one of all time.
1 billion worldwide seems the norm for major blockbusters these days.
I meant for Jurassic Park III. In the original Jurassic Park, it's obvious. But in JPIII, it was much more seamless. That's because they knew which shots were better to use for practical or cgi.
You've probably seen Jurassic Park so many times that you can easily pick out what is practical and what is cgi. That's just nitpicking, though. By Jurassic Park III, they had pretty much mastered...
You can't get more real than real. So a real, practical creature is going to beat out cgi any day.
As for the 'realism' of how dinos move, nobody has seen a real dinosaur so that's a moot point.
I prefer it when the actors are interacting with practical dinos, like when Sam Neill kicks the velociraptor in the head or Nedry and the dilophosaurus. Use the cgi for shots of them running or...
That's what I liked about the original Jurassic Park, they only used cgi when they had to. It was kept at a bare minimum. This was most likely for cost reasons but that's why the effects work so...
The megalodon was the only thing that I liked in that trailer. The cgi is terrible. No practical dinosaur effects that I could see. Lame cast. A GMO dino. :dsp:
Not interested. Looks like a rehash. And I don't like the cast. The lead guy from GotG.. hate that guy. :dislike:
I'm only going to watch this to see how far the special effects have advanced. It won't have the same feel as the first one.
I couldn't give a shit either way unless it's full of tons of gore and dinos fucking up people. When I was a kid I fucking loved Jurassic Park (the first one), though.

The best thing about JP1 was the buildup to seeing the dinosaurs. Back when they had this thing called 'suspense'. Now it's dinosaurs in your face in 3D. :dsp:
I'd rather see Carnosaur IV..
They are re-releasing JP in 3D in April here. I'm more looking forward to that.
