Well, they don't make movies like they used to. I feel as though "horror" movies nowadays are just tributes to great movies back in the day. Although I liked Hatchet a lot, it's not a true scary...

Steelba does have a point, 80's slashers were more focused on terror and trying to make true genuinely scary movies. Nowadays film makers try to make shit as gorey as possible, but don't really focus...
