"Curse Of The 49er" is a comedy horror shwoing good tribute to the classic slasher films of the 1980s, as it contains similar drama, humorous dialogue, well developed characters, good scenic background shots, similar looking kill scenes, similar music scores, and similar smooth editing to a lot of the slasher films from the 1980s. This one is about a group of hikers searching for an old mine believed to have a lot of gold hidden in there, and when they find it and start taking it, they awaken a 49er from the dead, back to retrieve his gold and to kill anybody who gets in his way. Although not great, it is still a fun entertaining one that keeps interest all the way through. It also has a lot of awesome looking kill scenes and the 49er makes a cool looking zombie himself. This should definitely appeal to those into the 1980s style slasher and zombie films.

"Death Walks At Midnight" is a 1972 Italian giallo horror film about a model who witnesses a murder, but the police believe she is thinking of a murder that took place six months earlier and that she had forgotten about it until something just put it back into her memory during the shooting. It turns out she saw accurately, and keeps trying to solve the murder and convince the police that she saw right. This story also has a lot of twists, turns, and shockers. It also includes a gang member with an intense high pitched laugh that is original. It even has a big shocker on who one of the secret gang members turns out to be. This should definitely be worth a look to those into the old school done right Italian giallo horror films and those into murder mysteries.

Studio 666 (2022), the Foo Fighter's first foray into feature fright fare (alliteration!) sees the band, playing themselves, as they hole up at a remote mansion with a bad history in order to make their latest album. Pretty much what you'd expect from a band whose videos tend to be very tongue-in-cheek and broadly comedic, but with buckets of gore, a superfluity of F-bombs and front man Dave Grohl turning in a surprisingly decent performance. It's nothing award-worthy or anything, but it's a serviceable horror/comedy with a couple of legitimate belly laughs (rhythm guitarist Pat Smear's description of the sound of masturbation prompted a mighty guffaw out of me). It's at least decent enough that you wish it could have been more, and with a bit more focus and fine-tuning, it probably would have been. Still, not bad. 5.5/10

"Curse Of The Demon" is a black and white monster movie from the 1950s. It is about a doctor traveling to the U.K. to investigate a cult leader, not believing in the witchcraft and black magic the cult leader specializes in, only to get put under a curse by the cult leader, and has to figure out a way to break or lift that curse before it is too late. He also meets up with the niece of a victim the cult leader recently had killed off via curse and demon unleashing, as she wants to help stop and expose the cult leader as well. This is overall a great timeless classic with a lot of great drama, dialogue, and well developed characters, along with a good plot and storyline. There are also a lot of great twists, turns, and eye opening scenes. The demon also looks very cool and intense. This is also another example of "the magic of a black and white movie." This should definitely appeal to those into the classic black and white monster movies.

A cargo ship is transporting dozens of criminals back to Korea... but the ship holds a secret cargo, more deadly than the inmates on board.
Yeah, so this film is basically two hours of arterial spray, interrupted by the occasional and non-sensical Korean dialogue. Anyway, its super fun!
But there is so much blood spray, you get a little numb to it before the ending. Really over-the-top and madness.

"The Man Who Knew Too Much" from 1935 is the original British black and white version of Hitchcock's classic film, also directed by a younger Alfred Hitchcock. It basically tells the same story about a family daughter getting kidnapped in Switzerland by a group of spies plotting a political assassination, only with a lesser known British cast and crew. It is still overall well done and amazing for its time. The cast did overall very well at bringing out their roles and it is also easy to see that a lot of time, hard work, dedication, heart, and soul was put into the making of this film. Those into Hitchcock and the 1955 version should definitely find this one worth a look.

"The Lodger" from 1927 is a silent film directed by a young Alfred Hitchcock, and is possibly the best of the silent films I have seen. Not only does it not look anywhere near as old as it is, but it actually holds up overall well with the test of time, and is still interesting and intense with its share of twists, turns, and eye opening scenes. Even with the lodger believed to be a serial killer roaming the streets of London after dark, and knowing Hitchcock, the killer would normally turn out to be somebody else, the lodger's backstory still turns out to be a surprise, along with the ending to be hard to see coming, not to get into detail to avoid spoilers. It also has great drama, dialogue, and lively well developed characters. Those into Hitchcock should not be disappointed with this one.
