Return To Nuke 'Em High Part 1

Oh fuck yes.. Now this was AWESOME! One of the best TROMA experiences I have. I'd been reading nothing but awesome things and was expecting to be a bit let down. I wasn't. hilarious. Stan-Lee, Lemmy, Lloyd, Toxie, Kabuki Man, Surf Nazi surf boards.. I'm sure there is more.. It's all there.

Not too mention the lead brunette is fucking gorgeous, that sex scene was fair hot. Man, is it hilarious though, random and in your face.. How it should be. Jokes about the shootings in American schools/theatres etc. Fuck. I was just in stitches. I so, so can't wait for Part 2. Hopefully TROMA can keep up this type of quality in future projects.. A truly enjoyable film. If someone wants the perfect, mates, pizza and beer film... Look no further.

If you're a fan I can't recommend it enough! It really is awesome.

The only complaint is that it feels like half a film.. Because it is. But it's annoying. It's just like BAM! 'TO BE CONTINUED!' And it's like fuck..

I can see why they did it though, sitting through another hour and a half in one go could get a bit tedious.

Patrick (1978)

First time watching.. good thriller.. very effective and well made. A bit of a slow burn though, but the way it builds up is pretty good. I like the whole idea as well. Curious about the remake now, wonder if they can pull it off. 7/10

Dark Night of the Scarecrow

I've wanted to see this for 4+ years, ever since I stumbled upon it on another forum. I was worried it was going to be a bit of a let down.. It's a pretty unseen film, but it gets some great love. Now, it's a early 80's made for TV, low budget film.

Zero gore, no real prac effects shots, a slow burn. And this film proves you don't need any of that to make a great picture. The atmosphere is thick, and aplenty. The suspense is great, but not over the top so it becomes boring. The acting is extremely solid, by the entire cast. And it keeps you guessing the entire time. And ends up with a pretty haunting ending. Totally surpassed any expectations I had. Brilliant.

The Blu transfer is one of the best I have seen. Ever. And since the film is a 30+ year old made for TV film.. I can't imagine the film was in amazing condition. I a lot of a time, care and love went into the restoration and transfer.. Which is beautiful to see. I really don't have anything to say that's negative. Thanks a heap Wooden!

It's kinda a sad a TV movie as old is this.. Kicks the shit out of every modern day horror film pumped out by studios today.. Pathetic.
