Terminus 7/10 - Solid mix of classical horror/sci-fi with a modern touch to it. I really wanted to rate it higher but there was something missing that i cant put my finger on.

Classic judging a movie by only watching a small portion of it. We all know it's going to be trash, but at least watch enough to form a proper opinion.
Also, I watched Visions recently. It has Isla Fisher in it and it's a straight up copy of the French horror film Inside. A really shitty fucking movie btw.

Bubba Ho-Tep. People don't see it as a horror movie, but I do. Horror/comedy to be more specific. I loved it.
You should really finish the entire movie before you make a claim. I am not a fan of the original, torture porn is not for me but I will watch the remake first and then maybe later on I might shove away my hate for torture porn and watch that movie (even though I know how it ends!)

I can make a claim because I know the quality of the acting which is poor and the staging of the scenes is so rushed and forgettable. Even if I hadn't seen the original I'd be thinking this is lame but having seen the original this is just a very weak carbon copy. No incentive to watch the rest as I didn't care.
Btw, the first 10/15 mins is pretty crucial to whether I want to give up the next hour or so of my time. It is critical. Some movies start off pretty slow but it's all in setting tone and other things. Sometimes I revisit movies because I misjudged. But this one, no... knowing it's a remake of a much better film.

I tend to finish a movie when I start one, oh well. Anyway, it's not always a smart move to do that, really. Think of movies likes April Fools Day and Sleepaway Camp! The endings of those movies are crucial. But I am one to speak.. I wanted to watch We Are Still Here the other day but it just looks like a slow movie overall, I sort of skimmed through it to get a peek of it and it just seems so boring.. the setting, the acting, etc. So I know how you feel. I don't feel like wasting my time for the movie, even if it might pay off in the end.

Oh no, I wasn't calling it boring myself haha. I am a huge fan of slashers. There are so many 80s slashers that I still need to watch.

I just finished this movie and i gotta say, the pacing and acting are probably the least of the issues with this movie. The pacing is pretty spot on to the original and the actors are.. eh.. nothing to complain about.
I actually didnt mind this remake.
I typically dislike changes in Hollywood remakes, but i can see why they did what they did for an American audience. The original is definitely much better and imo i see no real purpose for a remake, but whatever.
Ill give it a 5 of 10. Its not as atrocious as Oldboy was.

We Are Monsters, 2015. 7/10
Only an hour 15 mins long. Rape and revenge film. Nothing new here. It is worth the watch, there is rape, mutilation, gore. Some sick dialog. It's filmed in Sweden but suppose to take place in America with an aussie main girl. The dude is mentally fucked up. Jim is his name..and then there is the sick chick partner, Shirley, a nice surprise is found in her car and then retard sidekick who like the dead bodies afterwards. Heh. No CGI, that I could see and its filmed with filters so some of the scenes look like instagram pictures. Some the things the aussie girl does is kinda unbelievable cause she's a little thing but hey, if your brutalized like her, maybe Adrenalin rush of revenge can take over.
