Tense, moody, strange, and atmospheric period piece enhanced by an equally fitting score, and centered within a more than appropriate locale. A few pacing issues here and there, and the "old english" that's spoken throughout can be tiresome and annoying at times, but overall i'd say it more than deserves a viewing.

Krampus - loved it. Could have been better of course with an R rating but I still really enjoyed it.

Southbound - good mindless fun/gore here. pretty solid flick.

This one was a very awesome j-horror flick. An American remake would be nice, I know for certain that this movie could be improved, despite how good it is. Just like they did with Ju-on and remade it as The Grudge.

I don't know why it is said to be a prequel to Carved.. it has nothing in common with its predecessor aside from the main idea.

Southbound (2015)

Good flick. Very strange, very tense interconnected anthology style horror by some of the VHS group. Although not always especially coherent from front to back, it doesn't disappoint in the gore department, and a well done score serves to compliment this mayhem nicely. Acting was more than acceptable as well. If you dig on anthology style horror like I do then you'll want to check this out.

The Witch (2015) 6/10



I really enjoyed the cinematography in this, which is why this movie got a rating this high from me. That, and the score was pretty nice too. But other than that, the movie was boring. I found myself pulling out my phone more often than I usually do during a movie. It's highly overrated and not something I could watch more than once.
