The Taint(2011) The gore was great here and there, everything else was just a waste of my time. Guess it meant to be funny or tried to be whatever I wasn't amused at all. 2/10

*I usually include mini-reviews with each movie. If you'd all prefer I make solo review threads as opposed to posting here, I'll do so.*
La bestia uccide a sangue freddo (1971)
Also known as both Asylum Erotica and Slaughter Hotel, this Italian movie came as something as a disappointment. What I was hoping would be a decent giallo with good kills turned out to be more a soft-core pornographic flick. There's a lot of nudity in this one, folks. Self-fondling, lesbianism, nymphos, a little bit of everything besides male nudity. :p The story's simple enough: at a secluded clinic for women, a killer proceeds to whack off quite a few people. With various suspects and red herrings, will they discover who is behind these heinous acts? Well, that's not completely accurate. It's not until 75 minutes into the movie that anyone knows there's a killer on the loose, and once the police get there, there's only ten minutes left in the movie. In fact, the whole ending seemed rather rushed. Not that it's a bad thing – rushed action is better than no action at all, and to tell you the truth, I got tired of the sex and self-fondling a few minutes into the first sequence. But they keep on coming. And when we do get kills, they're not overly inspired. Sure, the crossbow kill was pretty cool, and the iron maiden death was decent, but everything else just fell flat. For Pete's sake, there's a bloodless decapitation in the movie. We can't have such an utter lack of gore like this and expect much of the kills to be memorable. For most of the film, I was just bored with the red herrings and consistent nudity, truth be told. While the ending was rushed, along with the explanation of why the murderer is offing people, at least we got some type of payoff for our troubles. A pretty tedious flick, but if a lot of nudity's your thing, give it a go. 6/10.

Antichrist(2009) This has a whole gamut right here it powerful at times, depressing, breathtaking, brutal, ludicrous, and ultimately a movie one loves or hates. I don't believe it when I hear something in middle with this one. Gainsbourg and Dafoe give amazing performances. I love it. 9.5/10

The Blackburn Asylum (2015)
This was an overly generic movie through-and-through. Basically, it's as if Wrong Turn, with the occasional element of The Hills Have Eyes remake was made 13 years later. It's just a poor shadow of these older films, really, with not much going for it. Some of the main characters are okay, and seeing Lochlyn Munro (of Freddy vs. Jason fame, also in 2015's The Unspoken) was decently nice, but the plot has been done to death. Escaped mental patients stalking down college kids can be a fun experience, but this added nothing to the table. Some okay blood (if CGI's your thing), but the only decent kill is a blowtorch to the face, which wasn't so much gory as it was painful to witness. Some portions of this film just felt too glossy, also, especially during the origins of the escaped mental patients. Didn't care for the sappy ending. Didn't care much for most of the film, really. Honestly, the opening is moderately solid, but it all goes downhill from there. A really generic movie, with unimaginative killers (sorry Ken Kirzinger – you were better as Jason) and a completely forgettable experience. 4.5/10.

Some Kind of Hate (2015)
Throughout the first thirty minutes, I was deeply enjoying this movie. A bullied kid finally strikes back, and gets sent to a new-age type anger management camp in the middle of the desert. Alas, he can't escape bullies there either, as three alpha-male dicks start picking on him. It's when he runs into a restricted portion of the camp, angry at the bullies, wanting them dead, when the spirit of a former patient begins to get revenge for the both of them. Partially, this might help explain my overall lukewarm opinion of the film as a whole. Most of the people who were killed were bullies, or covered up for bullies, and thus, I had little to no pity for them. An alpha-male dick that makes people feel miserable gets killed, and the audience is supposed to care? Why? That's just part of it, though. The movie really feels as though it's unraveling once you get past the thirty minute mark, and while the rest of the film isn't entirely horrendous, it reeks of mediocrity. I didn't much care for the design of the ghost, nor did I care for much of the story past a certain point. Honestly, it felt like Friend Request (2016) all over again, only (and here's the bad part) a little bit worse. The production quality was good all around, and while the gore wasn't anything special, I don't think it was horrible either. The main characters, played by Ronen Rubinstein and Grace Phipps, did a really good job, and hell, there are rather moving scenes and discussions of bullying throughout the film. If they threw out some of the elements in the second half of the film, I think it could have been a lot better. As it is, Some Kind of Hate doesn't live up to the potential the beginning of the film promises. While it's a somewhat interesting story, the approach didn't work for me, and overall, it's just a below average flick. 5.5/10.
