"Land Of The Minotaur" is a Greek horror film from 1976. It stars Donald Pleasance and Peter Cushing. It is about groups of tourists who keep disappearing with the local police playing it dumb on a small island due to a cult having most of the island's residents in it, along with their Priest having a lot of power. An Irish priest, played by Donald Pleasance, along with hired aids, investigates and finds out what happened to the tourists, then has to go back and find out the items and religious methods needed in order to defeat the evil spirit inside the minotaur statue that gives the dark cult its powers. Ths film is very artsy and gory with Peter Cushing playing one of his darkest and most bizarre roles. It is slower paced with a lot happening at the same time to where the viewer must pay close attention to understand what is happening in there. Overall, it is cool looking and intense for those who can pay attention and keep up with it. This should appeal to some into the Hammer films and/or the giallo era horror films.

"Shock Waves" is a zombie film from 1977 starring Peter Cushing in another one of his more bizarre roles about a group of boat tourists getting stranded on a mysterious island after their boat crashes and sinks. This "ghost ship" that crashed into their boat turns out to be an old Nazi ship that originally sunk but somehow rose back up with fallen Nazi soldiers who were taken to Nazi labs for shock wave experiments reanimating their corpses and programming them to go out to way and kill the other soldiers. Peter Cushing, who plays the sole resident on that island, turns out to be their old dictator, and that island turns out to be where they hid during the fall of the Nazi military and where they stayed after they lost the war. This movie has an interesting idea for a zombie film and Peter Cushing really delivers with his performance. The zombies are also cool looking. It does get long and repetitive a lot to where this film could have been a lot better, but it is still worth a look for those into the old school zombie era.
