Fulci for Fake (2019), pseudo-documentary about ol' splat-zoom himself, Lucio Fulci. A bit of an odd duck, this one, as it features plenty of real interviews with Fulci's daughters (with an emphasis on the younger, now disabled, Camilla) and a small number of close friends and collaborators, but delivered on a contrived premise: the interviewer is an actor set to play Fulci in a biopic and has been instructed by his director to speak to those who knew Fulci in order to better understand his character. I could have done without all that pablum as it serves no purpose other than to make the whole thing feel a bit pretentious. I also have the sneaking suspicion that shots of the "actor" responding to comments from the real interviewees were added in after, and that he was never actually there with them. Fortunately there are enough anecdotes, authentic behind-the-scenes clips and photos from his films, not to mention genuine affection on display from his closest friends, to keep you involved. Although I would have liked it to have gone into more depth in regards to how he learned his craft. Most Fulci fans know that at one time he was a medical student, but dropped out in order to become a filmmaker -- but none of that is mentioned here. So, while far from a complete portrait, it at least gives you some insight into the complicated life of a genre fan-favorite who, sadly, passed just as he was on the brink of a comeback. 6/10

After Hours (1985)

Didn't know what this was about before going in. I enjoyed it a lot. It was very different from your normal Scorcese movie and Griffin Dunne was great as the lead. The cast in general is really fun. Although, I did want to see more of certain characters play out. Everything seemed a bit too random for me. That was probably the point though.
