Killer Angels (1989), starring the delectable girls-with-guns mainstay Moon Lee as a cop who goes undercover as a nightclub singer and the Master Killer himself, Gordon Liu, as the thug with a heart who is first smitten with her, then assigned to kill her. Co-starring the late, great Shing Fui-On (affectionately nicknamed "Big Silly Head" by HK fans, and dubbed the Asian James Coburn by others) and big white dude Mark Houghton in one of his many gweilo henchman roles. Standard HK action fare -- which is to say, lots of stunts, gun fights, martial arts and melodrama -- though Lee and Liu give it an extra inch or two of class. The last time I saw this flick was in the late '90s. I think I still have an old Tai Seng VHS of it somewhere in my storage closet, but am far too lazy to look. 6/10

Who watches the Watchmen? I do. I'm watching Watchmen right now, as a matter of fact (the director's cut, to be exact). IMO, Zack Snyder's best flick, and one of the best comic book movies in general as well. As huge a fan as I am of Alan Moore's original series, I actually prefer the movie's climax (a giant psychic squid worked in the comic; I don't think it would have worked at all in the movie). The only things that keep me from blessing this flick with a 10/10 is that 1) Snyder, best film or not, uses WAY too much slo-mo (outstanding opening credits sequence notwithstanding) and 2) The embarrassing sex scene between Dan and Laurie. Absolutely cringe-worthy and seems to go on forever. Those two big gripes aside, I got nothin' but love for this flick. 9/10
