Pacific Rim

Man loved it even more on my second viewing. Easily the best summer block buster since Avengers; and before that? God I can't even think of anything that comes close. Such a total kick-ass movie. I noticed a lot more differences between the Monsters this time round too; so the film gets zero complaints. And it looks AMAZING on Blu. Going to get into the fuck load of beautiful features! 10/10

Salo, or the 120 days of Sodom

Wow. I don't really know what to say. It isn't the sickest thing I've seen, but it's probably the most deranged. I loved it; though it's really not a 'watch-once' film. Looking forward to the ton of docos on the Criterion blu; as well reading the booklet.

I remember thinking it was like a 70s S&M softcore combined with snuff. Emmanuelle in America meets Story of O.

I also remember being bored.

Hahahaha. I started reading about it online. As-well as talking to Lawrie about it (Lord of Tears director). I'm going to get a copy of the original book I think. It sounds A LOT more graphic and crosses a lot more lines of taboo. Which just can't be put to film for obvious reasons.

Interesting. It really isn't a film for everyone; nor is it something I could watch often.

Basically, the point of the film is that people in power do sick and evil things. I'm glad the film was made, but I don't find it that entertaining or interesting. Shame the director was murdered, though.
