Blade Runner 2049 - 10/10 - Denis Villeneuve is on another level right now... there is no one in or out of Hollywood who is doing what this man is doing. The last two 10 of 10 movies i saw was this and Arrival.

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

Blade Runner 2049 -
Great follow-up to the classic. I give it pretty high marks, but at the same time definitely do not think that it surpasses the magic of the Blade Runner... which still reigns as the Solo's all time favorite undisputed heavyweight champ.

Pulp Fiction. Not that I haven't already seen it a hundred or two times over the last couple decades, but I figured I'd squeeze in one more viewing before it leaves Netflix on the first. Damn thing never gets old.

Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond (2017) So, back when Jim Carrey was filming the Andy Kaufman biopic Man on the Moon, he had a couple people document him behind the scenes as he strove to stay in character as Kaufman at all times. The studio, upon seeing the behind-the-scenes footage, shelved it, for fear that it would make Carrey look like an asshole and damage the movie's box office. It was a smart move on the studio's part, because Carrey doesn't just come off as an asshole in the footage, he comes off as a completely unhinged, pretentious fuck-wad douche.
Now, I've always admired Carrey's willingness to do anything for a laugh, and he's a good dramatic actor, too, but there's a difference between "staying in character" and being a flighty, disrespectful prick to your co-stars, crew and director. The modern interview he supplied to go along with the old documentary footage is often emotionally charged and revealing, shining a light on his frame of mind back when, but as honest and open as it is, it does very little to excuse the behavior exhibited in the MotM footage. I still like the guy, but this documentary won't do his reputation any favors. Can't say it wasn't an interesting watch, though. 7/10
