Well these are quite the differences in ratings... what made you go as low as 4 of 10?

IMO the story was scattershot and uneven (even more so than the first) and a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. Despite being a comic book fan for nearly 40 years, I've never liked Deadpool and always thought he was a character more suited to animation or live action -- yet now he's had two movies, and I did't like either of them. Well, I did like the first one a bit more, but still wouldn't rate it very high. I think it says something that the one thing I liked most about the first -- Colossus' fight scene -- is pretty much the only thing I also liked about the second (though I didn't care for "I'm gonna melt you down and make a cock ring" line -- in many ways it feels like the Deadpool writers are more interested in dick and sex jokes than a solid story).

Eh. I'm sure there'll be a part 3. Maybe that one I'll like. But they'll need to up their writing.

The writers followed the comic... dick jokes are there because those are the jokes that would be in the DP comics. All of the writing is on par with the DP comics and they actually od a great job of capturing Colossus' character, something no one has been able to get right because they always to make the ridiculous metal man, realistic.

From what i see the DP movies are probably the best written and most faithful to the comics, of all Marvel movies..... especially XMen, nor Disney or Fox seem to be able to get any Xmen character right except these guys.

All I know is they brought all the things from the comics that I didn't like into the movies, which is pretty much guaranteed to leave me not liking the movies, either. I'm no prude, I'm not opposed to vulgar comedy at all, but it gets boring after a while, and the writers in both movies seemed to me as though their goal wasn't to tell a strong story, but to see how much vulgarity they could get away with, just for the sake of it. A cock/fart/sex joke every five seconds does not a great movie make.

That said, as I may have mentioned in another thread (or I may be thinking of another website -- I get around lol) the one thing I did really like about the first movie was Colossus. His design, his voice, the power level they gave him, etc, it was so much more comics-accurate than that lame-o version we got in the X-Men 2 and The Last Stand. He was the one stand-out from the first movie, and I liked him just as much in this flick, too. In fact, if I had my druthers, I'd say get rid of Deadpool and just give us a Colossus movie. That, I could get into.

Lethal Panther 2 (1993). Over-the-top Hong Kong action fare starring the deliciously bad-ass Yukari Oshima. I'd only seen this once, some twenty + years ago, and couldn't remember much about it. My take: Not Yukari's best, but entertaining enough in that "only in Hong Kong" kind of way. 5/10
