I bought an NES top loader several months back. I've got about 25 games for it; most of them I already had here at the house. I've played it a little, but I'm always playing DOOM2 wads and can't get off them. People make so much good content, it would take a gazillion years to play them all. I've been playing them for the past 4/5 years? All you need is say The Ultimate Doom Collection for the Doom and Doom2 iwad files and the pwads are totally free. Mind you, these games are way harder than the original ones.

The regular one or the Arcade one? The 1st one that came out on the NES is one hard bastard. I never got past the underwater stage.

Yes it is. Ghosts N Goblins, Castlevania, Battletoads, and Ninja Gaiden were hard as shit too. I finally beat Castlevania a couple of years ago. I smashed my 1st NES into a million pieces playing Ninja Gaiden. I fractured my wrist punching a tube television then stomped that NES to death.

@IrishG3ent I broke out Contra for the NES the other night. Man, I hadn't played that in decades and it was so much fuckin' fun. Of course I used the 30 lives code. It's too easy to beat that way, so now I may explore beating it without the cheats. That's one thing those Doom wads have taught me by competing in the UV-Max category, which includes starting a level with only the pistol and no saving allowed on the way. You have to get 100% secrets and kills. I hold a few records on the Doomed Speed Demos Archive. Check out that Sunder vid a few posts above. That shit is crazy-Doom. That's the kind I play.

Anyone have opinions on Tropico or games like it? I'm really trying to find something different I haven't played before and a genre like this I have never touched.

Titanfall 2 is fantastic. I'm still playing MP after all these months.
Right now I'm playing Horizon, which for me is up there with TLOU as one of the greatest games I have played.
I'm also playing For Honor, which has some flaws but also the best combat system I have ever played.

About an hour or so into Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Already this game is amazing. There's so much to do and is absolutely gorgeous. Lots of inspiration from games like Skyrim, Farcry, and others. I can't wait to see where this game goes.

I am new to the NIER series....mind fuckin blown! This is easily one of the MOST ENJOYABLE games I have played in awhile. I am beyond hooked on this one at the moment. RE7 might be taking a back seat to this game...the soundtrack..the graphics..the gameplay...spot on for me!
