Yeah, I enjoyed raiding 10M content, for the most part, with my little casual guild, but once you get into "real" raiding it's just a pain dealing with all the personalities and nonesense. Our problem was we were usually carrying at least two people who weren't very good, the mom + stepdad of the GM. It wasn't always possible to make up for their inability to react to stuff that would sometimes wipe us or if we were at a "gear check" boss where lack of DPS would lead to an enrage timer or too many debuff stacks on the tank and wipe things up.
Still, good times in Kara and ICC. The more gimmicky, mechanics heavy fights in Ulduar were, unfortunately too much by about half-way in to overcome the dead weight. They also weren't much help against Onyxia. I never could get it to really register with them that everything from spec to rotation to how to enchant their gear was already figured out and all they had to do was follow the instructions at places like elitistjerks.com and they'd automatically be twice as useful to the raid.
