Found this at Bloody and Disgusting.New Line Home Enetertainment’s The Cell 2 began principal photography last month, according to Video Business. Its story line is under wraps, but Kasha confirms it does extend the franchise, which kicked off with 2000 theatrical The Cell starring Jennifer Lopez. This next installment, slated for third-quarter 2008, stars Frank Whaley (Vacancy) and Tessie Santiago.
Seems this'll be a DTD release. I'm mixed honestly, as I loved the first one (J-Lo is actully bearable, but not much) and a sequel could work if the story is done just right, but still....I don't know.
