I'd say its a tiny bit better than the original. But, when making a sequal to crap... you are not going to get a t-bone steak. So, maybe a half a star/skull better at best.

I hear that both White Noise 2 and this movie really surpassed the first.
If thats true I should really look into these because the originals weren't complete garbage.

Just finished watching Boogeyman 2. Ok... mixed feelings.

Ignore the title and view the movie as just a movie, not a sequal, and its fairly decent. Nothing stands out to make it a good movie, but I've seen much worse. A semi-solid stand alone slasher movie of the straight to DvD/TV quality.

What gives me mixed feelings is that it IS marked as a sequal to a (rather crappy) supernatural killer flick... and they took out the supernatural part. Its just another teen slasher flick with a weakly done reasoning for the killer with an extremely fucked up attempt to connect with the original.

If it had a different title, I would say 'yeah, its not a complete waste of an evening". But due to its attempt to be a sequal and FAILING on an epic scale to tie into the original (my god, its like they wrote it in as an after thought) it drops drastically on the rating scale.

3/10 is my rating due to its poor sequal status. Viewed as a non-sequal... 5/10.

it is much better then the first, and the r rating in this one(first was pg-13) really helps, as it now has some solid gore

Your review is a bit wrong. The main character from the first film is referanced in the second through his photo and history in a medical file in the doc's office after the girl breaks in towards the end... weak tie in no doubt. Sides that, good review.
