Kaleidesacpe showed their new movie server. This device allows you to rip your DVD's and store them for distribution to any point in the home. An online service backfills metadata about the films stored on the server.
Logitech was present with their award winning G-series gaming gear. An interview revealed that a new gaming keyboard is in the works for a summer release (G25?) and will address the shortcomings of their first attempt.
Asus had a full offering including serveral notebooks, a Skype Wi-Fi phone and their own Media Center (not MS based). Carbon fiber, racing cars and hot pink leather were all visible on these laptops (sorry, no booth babes).
Netgear presented their home NAS solution, a small device that provides serverless IP based storage for the home. Coupled with their new RangeMax 240 wireless access point, .5TB can be made easily availble on any home network. It's only drawback is it's 10/100 NIC, seriously hamstringing it for media serving.
Raysat displayed their SpeedRay 1000, an active satellite/TV/Internet/Wi-Fi antenna system with GPS tracking. Intended for vehicle mounting, this low profile unit allows your truck/van/RV to receive satellite TV signals on the go, adjusting and tracking satellite positions via it's built-in GPS. Wireless internet turns your vehicle into a rolling hotspot.
Kodak showed their new dual lens digicam with built-in panorama capability (with stitching), image stabilization, 5x optical zoom and 5MP for $399.

# The new Digital Lifestyle - Bill walked through a proposed home/office scenario in which PC's are finely integrated into many aspects of the home. Touchscreens, canyon sized multiscreen systems with full multimedia integration, and some pretty amazing infrastucure items that would enhance the use of smartphones and other portable devices.
# The amazing abilites of Microsoft Vista - a lot of the functions described in the aforementioned scenario depend on a lot of the new abilities included in Windows Vista; a major theme at CES 2006.
# Windows Media Player 11 & Urge - A collaboration between Microsoft and MTV that will provide over 2 million titles at launch. Itunes beware! Justin Timberlake made an appearance and claimed to have some geek in him. I think he has as much geek in him as my cat has elephant in her.
# Tablet PC's will be improved. God knows they need the help.
# Smartphones will become increasingly integrated in the digital lifestyle.
# Media Center will become the hub of the digital lifestyle. Lots of partnering including DirecTV which will allow the recording of HD content. Five new content providers are now in the Online Spotlight including Comdy Central's Motrherlode. Toshiba has announced their Gigabeat portable media player which has 30GB of storage. STARZ has announced their Vongo Movie download service that is integrated into Media Center. LG has a Portable Media Center with a widescreen form-factor that fits in the hand. Windows Live will be enhanced to integrate into Media Center and provide recommendations based on user preferences. Community preferences can be shared and accessed allowing you to share your TV preferences with your friends. Windows Live will also be able to set up recordings on your Media Center. Vista Media Center has integrated HD-DVD support. New features include providing you with meta information about actors/crew/film without leaving the film. Legal copies of films can be made. Digital cable can now be encoded using a cable card receiver. Finally! Vista Media Center will handle widescreen TV's and will manage tens of thousands of songs quickly and easily.
# Xbox 360 - A third manufacturer (Celestica) was announced. Xbox Live has had over 4 million downloads in the last month. Mission Impossible 3 debuted its trailer on Xbox Live. Over 20 games will be available in March via Xbox Arcade.
